Had a very comfortable stay

Services was great, and room was nice. Had a dinner at their Italian restaurant; foods were nice (couldn’t say great, but very acceptable). Wines list was very friendly, a big range for you to pick as per your budget and preference. Breakfast was very good; made myself a mimosa every morning :)

Not only is the location of this beautiful hotel perfect but it’s style blends subtly into the surroundings. Next to St. Isaacs and across from a gentle park. An added pleasure of the Lion Palace is the Tea Lounge where you are welcomed by Victoria. Her staff member, Maria, helped us prepare blinis, a true Russian delight.

Must stay if in St. Petersberg

Did not find any issues at all. Clean, nice mix between historical and luxury design, staff are friendly and speak English. Cater well to children. Not the best 4 seasons I've been in, but no issues at all with it. Highly recommended and would come again.

Incredible Experience

From the moment I made reservations online, the Four Seasons Lion Palace over delivered in service. The letters I received from the spa, concierge, and front desk made me certain that not only had I chosen the right hotel, but that any concerns I might have about traveling in Russia would be quickly addressed. When we arrived at the airport after a long flight from the US ( Aeroflot Business class is terrific) A Four Seasons representative was waiting for us in the airport. She welcomed us and quickly checked us in AT THE AIRPORT! A few steps outside the terminal and she delivered us to our waiting car with Four Seasons driver Andree. When we arrived, as soon as we stepped out of the car all of the bellmen and staff welcomed us by name! What a lovely thing. Elena, the concierge gave us a very quick tour of the hotel and took us right to our rooms. She gave us a very warm welcome and valuable information. You would expect great service at any Four Seasons, but we really experienced extraordinary service. It seemed that every staff member was trying to make our stay very, very special. For example, one night my throat was feeling a little scratchy. We decided to stay in and order room service. When I asked for hot tea with lemon and ginger, the room service attendant asked if I was feeling ill. I told her I was. She said, "may I suggest a special tea that we make in Russia that I think will help you?" I said, absolutely. Then she asked if I'd like some chicken soup, too. Let me tell you that special tea really worked its wonders. But isn't that amazing that room service would be thinking about what I was ordering and trying to make me more comfortable? At breakfast one day I asked what an item was on the menu. The waitress explained it and I ordered something else. Two minutes later, she brought us a sample...just so we should try it. The same thing happened at the breakfast buffet. I pointed to a cake and asked if it was Russian honey cake. I was told it wasn't. Not a minute later the chef sent out two pieces of their famous Russian cake to try! Even though you couldn't get a better location that the Lion Palace, there is a lot of walking. We had tickets to the Mariinksy Theatre and my husband asked about car service. Not only did Andree take us to the Theatre, but at the end of the performance was Waiting INSIDE the theatre and had the car right in the front! Even though the hotel was completely sold out we felt like we were the only ones there. That's how great the service was. We met Felix the general manager and he was so welcoming. The SPA is just gorgeous and the treatment I had by Yvonna was like nothing I had ever experienced. Don't miss the spa! We hardly ever use a concierge, but we did here. And they were so helpful. We purchased tickets online ourselves and got around just fine. But I did ask they concierge to arrange a private car and guide for Catherine Palace. That was so smart. We had a terrific guide, Irene (who used to work for Gorbachev) We did the Hermitage on our own, but my husband told the concierge what we wanted to see and she mapped it all out for us. While huge groups were going by, we were able to see everything on our list. St Petersburg is all about palaces and so to stay in one is really amazing. Pushkin actually wrote a poem about it. I must say our room was so quiet and very large. The common areas are just beautiful and there is a calmness and sense of security that is just wonderful. We ran into many people who seemed surprised that we were "on our own" and not on a cruise or with a group. This hotel made that easy. Really, if you are considering a trip to Russia....this is the place to stay.
