Run down hotel
Run down hotel in need of a makeover. Toilets not as clean and Saving grace is the mall with a supermarket beside it. Don't understand how it could have got a 8.0 rating on TripAdvisor. Noise from the neighboring restaurant (adjacent mall) was also irritating.

Location is the only thing goo....
Came here with a tour group. If I had a choice, I would not stay here again. First of all, the room bedcover was frayed. The bathroom tub was cracked and tile was dirty.
The receptionist did her best to switch my room but the replacement wasn't any better because the bathroom was still less than ideal.
I'm not sure what the tour price was, so please keep an open mind.
If I had to pay for the room I would pay $30.00 a night maximum.
If you need a place to sleep because your car broke down, this is suitable.
The good thing is that there is a little mall next to the hotel which has a supermarket and awesome Italian pizza place that serves pizza, chicken, breads, and mozzarella filled poppers. The owner was very kind and gave me some extra bread. Please be sure to support him. Make sure you go to the one that serves chicken, kind of on the corner since I saw two places that sell pizza.
The best way to describe the hotel is that it is dated and has high traffic. The floor seemed dirty so always use slippers and another tour member had a bite I would only guess came from a bug! Yikes!

Very nice and reasonably price....
The Palace Inn Hotel is a large hotel of a very good standard - only small negative is that the parking is totally accessible to anyone walking past.
Rooms are of a good size and come with all you need in the way of amenities. The night we spent was very quiet and the reception were very efficient and helpful.

Applying U.S. standards
This hotel had the most modern rooms of the 4+ we stayed during a student tour late June 2016. No real views as far as any I can tell. Lobby was fine. Rooms had been recently updated. Each had a mini fridge. The room was very clean, nice new memory foam beds, decent size, and a modern bath. Bath has limited storage areas. As one reviewer noted it is a large step up into tub. Wi-fi inconsistent in rooms. I found the staff helpful and polite. I only worked with front desk for personal needs such as extra pillows and towels and they were accommodating. AC was not great, but we opened our windows and the night air was cool enough to be comfortable. Breakfast was not tasty with powered eggs, processed cheese, bread and a few pastries. Cereal was also provided . There's a grocery store in a "mall" next door which also has a gelato shop bakery, and several other stores. Overall if you have a renovated room this was a comfortable hotel. Improvements would be to increase wi-fi reception and a pool.

Worst stay in Italy ever
We came on a tour group from Australia and stayed at this hotel with a group of slightly more than 140 young people.
It is definitely not Rome - location is questionable with a sex shop and strip club 50 metres away, and a dive of a shopping centre behind. If you have a group or have any choice, don't stay here.
Rooms smelt of cigarettes in a hotel advertised as no smoking throughout.
The restaurant staff were rude and unwelcoming and tried to pick a fight with some of the leaders of the group over a request by a couple in the group to drink a very expensive bottle of wine which we had purchased at another part of Italy and wanted to comsume with our meal. Permission was denied so that we could drink the wine of the hotel. We had to suffer a cheap wine of the restaurant which retails at the supermarket for about €2.
The bathrooms were dated with obvious grout repairs.
A twin share room is not a twin room. Beds are attached together or provide about 5cm between beds and it was very awkward for people sharing on a tour.
The electronic key cards for the rooms were not programmed correctly on check-in so many of our group had to return to check in and get additional cards.
All this occurred in just the first 4 hours of arriving.
Let's hope it gets better.
