Thank you Loria family
If you are looking for a hotel in Rome, look no further. Hotel Golden is a clean, conveniently located, family run hotel. We stayed there for 4 nights in May. The Loria family were very helpful with recommendations for restaurants, local shops, and general information. The rooms were comfortable and breakfast was delicious. We would stay here again without any hesitation and highly recommend it to all. Love to the Loria family. Thank you for a fantastic stay in Rome!

Great recommendations for places to eat, places to tour and tips on getting around the city. The hotel is very centrally located. I. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit Rome and not stay in a chain hotel. A real gem at a decent price.

Fabulous hotel, loved it!
We (2 adults and 2 kids), stayed here for 4 nights in December, in a family suite.
This is a traditional, family run hotel and am am so pleased that we chose to book here. We were greeted and treated like family, which is exactly the experience we were looking for staying when in Rome. Our room was huge! We had two very large separate bedrooms, both with a TV. The beds were very comfy, and there was central heating throughout. There was a dining area and a large private bathroom with plenty of amenities supplied.
Yes, it is an old building, as are most buildings in Rome, however it is very well maintained and rooms were spotlessly clean.
Breakfast was an absolute treat. Nonna was in the kitchen cooking, and the variety and quality of the food there was amazing and delicious.
The Loria family were very helpful and full of useful information, giving us recommendations for nearby restaurants etc.
The location is fantastic, far enough away from the noise of the city and close enough to walk to the Spanish Steps etc. We actually walked to the Colosseum from there.
I highly recommend this hotel and when we go back to Rome, I will book here again without hesitation. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Enhanced my trip
I travelled solo. I arrived five hours late(flight delay) and soaked from the rain. I had communicated with the hotel about the delay and had a really warm and caring welcome from the hotel. I had done my research and knew what size my room would be. It was smallish, but had everything I could need, lovely hot showers, well lit bathroom, good airconditioning, well lit room, lovely furnishings and everything worked. I was helped to find somewhere to eat late at night, and then slept.
The breakfast was really lovely, like a tapas ( I know that is the wrong country). tasty bits of sweet or savoury, but no limit on what you ate of what. Mama Teresa just kept coming from the kitchen with little freshly cooked delights made with egg, or pastry or fruit.
During my stay, someone was on duty on the desk at all times, however late, or early. Always there to answer a question or find out the answer.
There are plenty of maps of Rome and guide books to look at.
There is a beautiful antique lift up to the first floor.
If you are looking for a faceless, modern, standard hotel, then this is not for you. This family run establishment is part of the Italian experience.
It is in the exclusive part of the city, near many expensive hotels, and the American Embassy, so I would advise eating nearer the middle of town ( about 10 mins walk) before coming home for the night. BUT it is right next to the Borghese gardens. I have read criticism that there is no where to go and sit in the hotel outside of your room. I went to the gardens, to people watch and also see the sun set over Rome. Beautiful.
My room (115) did face the back, which is not pretty, but very interesting. It also made the room a little dark, but this is just a factual comment and not a criticism. Not all rooms can face the front and it did not affect my stay in any way.
I will be returning to Rome ( which is an enormous open air museum) and I will certainly be returning to the Hotel Golden.
