Get What You Pay For
Just returned home from a 4 night stay at this hotel and was pleasantly surprised.
We arrived at Termini from Ciampino and caught the Metro A line to Numidio Quadrato, which took about 20 minutes.
We arrived at approx 11am but were allowed to check in which was great.
The room was shoddy no doubt about it, certainly didn't look like the pictures. Light fitting hanging out of the ceiling, wc didn't flush etc... but this was only ever going to be a base to sleep and keep our bags, and for that purpose it was perfect.
My girlfriend finds it hard to sleep in different beds as she has a back complaint but she said this was hands down the comfiest bed she's ever slept in!!
The neighbourhood is 'lively' and quite obviously a poorer area of Rome, but their are some brilliant quality local restaurants near by, and a lovely place to have a slightly better breakfast just next to the Metro station which was dirt cheap.
Breakfast wasn't great, we only had it the first morning and didn't bother again.
The 'roof terrace' is also just the room you have breakfast in, it has a roof so arguably not a terrace - don't get excited for that!
All in all, a justified 3* with good features.

Nothing like the pictures but ....
Just returned from City Guess house and found this guest house about 20 min metro ride from the centre of Rome. The room didn't look like any of the pictures shown here and was quite run down there was a kitchen sink that wasn't even connected. However the Guest House is spotlessly clean and the breakfast was good (typically European breakfast) The general location is a bit off putting at first as again its a bit run down but the Guest \house has good security. Staff don't speak much English but are friendly and helpful.

The hotel with hidden secrets.....
Me and my boyfriend have just returned back from the most amazing city break from Rome.
We chose city guest house to stay in and we honestly couldn't have been more happier with choosing to stay with them.
So we was allowed to check in at 12pm when we requested it via booking.com which was super handy. Then we went into our room which was 504 and we absolutely love it!
We wasn't aware we had a balcony with a table and chairs! Perfect for the weather we had. The room had a hairdryer aswell which was handy.
We also had breakfast included which you had continental items such as one croissant and unlimited choice of cereals, cakes, fruit and toast.
There was a metro station 5 mins away.

No frills but clean.
This is not your traditional hotel, it is more like a block of flats with a reception on the ground floor and a breakfast room on the 5th floor. There is alot of rubbish outside but then everywhere we went in the local vicinity was the same though i dont know why as we heard the bin collection every morning at around 6am.
The guest house is very clean although a bit tatty in areas, like door frames and skirting boards. Bed linen was clean although the throws on top looked like they weren't washed for every guest.
Breakfast was okay you get 1 croissant per guest, then there's bread, ham, cheese, eggs, cereal, cake, biscuits, yogurt tea and coffee and juice.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. They even researched the local train times for me and printed me a copy.
Free WiFi is a bonus at times I did find it difficult to connect to the internet but this only seemed to be around 10pm the rest of the time I had no problems.
The Metro is a short walk away in the town about 5 minutes max.
The only thing I didn't like was not having a safe deposit box in the room but we didn't have any problems with the items we left lying around in our room, at one point even the tip we left for the maid was there when we got back.
Good location for getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city but easy links back into the city. A 50 minute walk to the Catacombs.

Outdated! Service was ok
+staff can speak English
+near the station
+wifi : only in the lobby area
+hotel closes at 11 so you need to use another door to get in that is always open!! There is a residents area on the 2nd floor and they don't care to close it properly.
+elevator was ancient!! Missing buttons (and the door doesn't close properly, it also makes scary noises)
+no safety boxes
+ the breakfast buffet only lets you take 2 of each item max!!
+ the blow dryer is ancient!
+ rooms have only one lock and you have to lock it again with the same key on the inside to close the door
+mountains of trash in front of the building
+the whole area around the hotel was littered with garbage
Would I come back?
No. I guess it's good for students or people who are saving money.
I should have paid extra for a better hotel but hey! At least the room was clean.
