This is a hotel with a lot of charm, low beams and history! It's also very close to the city centre.
Very friendly personnel at all times, lots of nice touches around the hotel - it is clearly well maintained and loved by the owners. The room I was allocated was huge and was, in fact, a fully equipped apartment. The facilities in the room were very good although some were looking their age, but not an issue is such a wonderful building. Be very careful if you are above average height, the ceilings are low! Excellent beds, very comfortable, bathroom satisfactory.
Very good breakfast at a reasonable price eaten in a lovely restaurant/breakfast room.
If you want something a bit different from the usual hotel then choose this one. It is also very reasonably priced.
Only disadvantage is that there is no car park and on street parking is difficult to find. There is a compact and challenging 24 hour mutlistorey 50 metres away however.

Perfect for what it was
It's perfect for business stay. Was there for two nights, quirky hotel, lots of character. Low beams, tall people beware!
Had a single room, with ensuite bathroom. Up in the eves. Perfectly clean, no frills. Good choice for breakfast, lovely German bread.
Had fun with the key safe at midnight on arrival, but was all good.
A great little hotel.

Beautiful old, peaceful hotel ....
I stayed at the top of the hotel in a double room with shower. Very nice powerful shower. The room had old beams, and was large enough for yoga exercises.and T.M.
and the windows opened wide for fresh air. (most modern hotels are lacking fresh air)
The hotel had a very friendly feel to it. It was more like staying in a family home.
The manager helped me with directions to places. and was very patient with my difficult bus timetable.
The breakfast is ok for vegetarians. Nice bread, fruit, eggs, cheese. green tea, earl grey tea.

In the average
A nice place in a medieval "theme". The whole hotel is very traditional. I was there 3 days for a business trip. I don't think it's adapted for that kind of trip. The breakfast buffet is very simple. But it's very nice located.

A very nice place where servic....
This hotel is in an old German style building, very beautiful and with a lot of character. It is centrally located at a walking distance from everything that counts in this little and friendly city of Braunschweig.
This is not your typical hotel, rooms are actually mini apartments with everything needed for a medium term stay: sitting area, dining area, a well equipped kitchen, a nice studio and, of course a bedroom and a bathroom. It is perfect for a stay from a week to a few months.
Nothing is lacking here, but a bit more service attendance (quantity wise, as the quality is very good) would make it a perfect place. Apartments are quiet and although "mini", actually quite large.
Breakfast is served in the adjoining restaurant called Zucchero (sugar in Italian) and it is what one would expect in Germany: a wide variety of choices, nice, fresh, delicious German charcuterie and anything one could wish for.
I was on a very busy business trip during Winter, it was very cold and could not really enjoy the town, but, for whoever would like a similar accommodation, I would strongly recommend this hotel.
