Hotel Review: Okay Palace Hotel, Phnom Penh (PNH)
I recently stayed at the Okay Palace Hotel in Phnom Penh and had a mixed experience.
The hotel is located down a narrow lane, which poses a major inconvenience — most taxi drivers refuse to drive down this lane, often dropping you off about 150 meters away on the main road. This can be especially frustrating if you have heavy luggage or are arriving late at night.
Another major inconvenience is the breakfast arrangement. Although you're staying at the Okay Palace, breakfast is served at their sister property — the Okay Boutique Hotel, located about 100 meters away. Walking over each morning just to eat can be quite annoying.
Service-wise, the hotel has some rigid policies. For example, if you need drinking water at night, you must go down to reception to collect it — room delivery is not available. Also, room cleaning is not automatic; you have to specifically request it at reception each day, which isn’t made clear upon check-in.
On the positive side, the rooms are quite good — clean and spacious. The breakfast itself is very good, with a decent spread and quality food (once you get to the other hotel).
Overall, I do not recommend booking at Okay Palace Hotel due to the logistical inconveniences and service limitations. However, I would recommend the Okay Boutique Hotel, which seems better managed and more convenient, especially for breakfast and service.
