You get what you pay for
Typical Ibis budget hotel. Basic but fine for overnight stay. What it isn’t is five minutes from Centraal Station. It’s about ten minutes from the south end - the opposite end of the main entrance. It took us easily 20-25 min to walk from the main square. You need to be young and/or fit! We are in our 70s and not that fit. What the hotel needs to emphasise is that there is a convenient tram stop in the opposite direction from the station about 5-10 min walk.
Cheap and cheerful. Needs to be as physically near the station as the Ibis at Brussels Midi!

Parking below hotel
This is a good option when you are traveling by car to Antwerpen. It is a small ride from the highway to the hotel. You park your car in the new central station car park and just walk up the stairs to the hotel. That way you do not have to park your car outside the streets in the area Borgerhout. I have stayed here twice and it is a good budget option. I do not go for the optional breakfast, but buy Some croissants at the supermarket, which is around the corner.

Good location and budget stay
Nearby Central Station. Its at the backside of Zoo/Central Station. if you arrive by train, you will need to walk all the way from front to backside of train station.
On the opposite site is a mosque and noisy.
Rooms were good and clean.
Breakfast was sufficient. But could be good if they have eggs added to the menu.
Staff were polite and helpful.

Here's another hyper-convenient hotel in Belgium-- this one a few steps away from the south end of the almighty Antwerpen Centraal Station, from which you can easily conquer the entire country on a daily basis. Since you're considering staying here to save some money in pricey Belgium, also note that the food stores in the station, as well as the Lidl supermarket next door, can help you with self-catering. Attractions such as the Comics Station, the zoo, and the Jewish jewellers district are also mere steps away. The room is typical of the interchangeable, standardised Ibis Budget, which is very blond, green, and clean. However, I been staying at these places relatively often for quite awhile, and it's starting to feel a bit tired. Without changing their design scheme or business model entirely, perhaps Accor can make the room lighting options more appealing (maybe LED accents) and less fluorescent-looking (which can feel a bit depressing or institutional)? As expected of all Ibis properties, this hotel delivers on all the bare basics: cleanliness, competent housekeeping, polite and helpful clerks, free strong wifi, noise levels under control, adequate room temperature control (with operable window for fresh air), acceptable bed (for the low price), sufficient supply of towels, good water pressure and water temperature controls in the bathroom, and adequate toilet pressure, and solid continental breakfasts.
