Really wanted to love this pla....

Firstly, this hotel is located in a beautiful location. The shower with the multiple heads was great. The people who checked us in and out were very professional and welcoming. Sadly, that is it. The bed was awful! It was like someone jumped on it and fell through to the floor. There was a huge pit I kept ending up in. I asked my husband to get it taken care of the next day. He told the person at the desk the bed was broke and we assumed it would be fixed. After a long day out, we come back to the same bed. The room had an old smell to it...like an antique store. The person that brought us to the room said "let's open the windows and get the room aired out". The breakfast was ok. The first day there was a chef to custom make eggs, but there were a few people getting their eggs made, I decided to wait until our second day. That was a mistake. The chef never stood there long enough for me to ask him for eggs. He kept disappearing. The dining room was poorly managed. There were dirty dishes on many tables. Coffee took a long time to come to the table. I had to flag someone down to get some. There was actually broken pieces of dishes on the floor. The public areas seemed tired. I thought that this would be an upscale couple days, but it was as a disappointment. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

“The Hills Are Alive, with The....

Clash of Cultures Folks! My family and I have wanted to visit Zell am See for many years, always admiring the photos of the stunning Grand Hotel on Lake Zell. When we finally had the chance to include a stay at The Grand Hotel for a few nights while in route from Zermatt to Vienna, we were surprisingly so very disappointed ?? and below is why: 1) The Grand Hotel and the Zell am See region was clearly catering to tourists from Qatar and Saudi Arabia and other regions as such. Women running around fully covered including their faces. It was quite shocking if you are not expecting to see this in The Austrian Alps. Unfortunately their European, Asian and American tourists who were paying the same amount of money as guests were treated as second class guests. People were SHOCKED. 2) The heat was cranking, so hot it was so uncomfortable to sleep - probably catering to people who are used to very warm climates. There was not thermostat in our suite to change the temperature. 3) No enforcement of Fine Dining etiquette - there was no dining room manager to enforce proper dress code and behavior. Certain people would show up for dinner with their faces completely covered, puffy ski jackets and ski hats on, toddlers running around and nothing is said, men playing desert music on speaker phone in the middle of dinner. When my husband complained to our server and asked for a manager, he ignored his request and stopped speaking to my family while still serving us. And my husband is Austrian so he spoke to staff in their language. Nothing was done and we had paid extra for gourmet dining. Each one of our meals in that dining room was very tense. Also, no authentic Austrian cuisine offered and the food was nothing special. A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT FOR SUCH A BEAUTIFUL LOCATION AND VERY EXPENSIVE!
