Terrible Stay
businessHassled by 5 shikars (boatmen) while sitting in the front porch area after just arriving was a terrible experience. The hotel staff (me. Junaid) not even bothered to say anything about it. I told him many times that i wanted to sit on the front porch in peace and quiet and not be disturbed. Jun-aid (the house boat server) didn't bother. I will never stay here or in any house boat at nigeen lake or dal lake in srinagar. . The wangnoo hotel staff should be trained in how to allow guests to enjoy the scenery in peace. It was a holiday in hell. Plus they don't even have coffee, tea, milk, sugar sachets to make your own tea or coffee. So i had luckily packed some of my own. Don't expect much service or hospitality from the house boat staff. Room carpets were not vacuum cleaned in years and smelt musty stank up the room. Power cuts every few minutes. Good Stay
We are a family of 4, stay at the houseboat was comfortable, with some good views of the hills in the front, great room with attached bath( very clean with a bathtub. Jun-aid was an excellent caretaker, food was great(homely. Would recommend this if you are looking for a quiet stay away from the hustle and bustle of tourist place.

Obviously the boat house is awesome but the attendant couldn't respond at night when we faced a troubled with hitting power of room

Hygiene and cleanliness’
coupleThe sheets were not changed. Had hair all over the bed sheets pillow and duvet. Had to ask them to change the sheets. The tea serving kettle was dirty-and had stains. There was power cut and no water in the bathroom. Had to wait for the power to come back after which there was supply of water in the bathroom. Looking at the tea and cups wasn’t sure whether it was safe to eat meals hence didn’t order. Just ate some bananas and boiled eggs. The rooms are beautiful but needs to look into the hygiene aspect.

Transparency is utmost important
businessStaff behaviour is good, they are helpful . I got a taxi booked by Arshad named employee. He asked for ₹ per day. But at the time of check out he asked for 1000₹ out of those ₹ in advance. I did it in front of Taxi driver but when my trip came to an end the taxi driver asked for ₹. Ideally it should ₹ as I had already paid ₹ in advance. And it became a complete mess.

Dear sir Thanks for your feedback. As you booked taxi at last moment and it was very difficult to get prepaid taxi during the busy season but we tried hard and arranged one car and we paid advance Rs 1000 in order to get car on time. Sir we helped you with the car at the last moment.

familyNot worth the price at all. I paid for one night for 3 rooms even though very good branded hotels were available at much cheaper price however i opted for it to have a houseboat experience that turned out to be a nightmare. I have full doubt that they take us to some other houseboat that is available as it’s a cartel. This houseboat didn’t have the name written anywhere. It’s definitely not situated on the main nigeen lake and maybe backside of nigeen. Hospitality, cleanliness was at its lowest. Washbasin drains were leaking. Bf was not even worth considering. Cockroaches. Rats were found on the property and plates and glasses were such that you had to clean yourself.

Good Stay
Food arrangement was not good. Though the property is breakfast included, for early check out they provide only bread butter and tea. Need to improve on food and cleanliness of bedsheets. Fresh bedsheets not provided. The caretaker was cordial. The interiors of houseboat was good. Room had good heating system

Review of food, stay & staff conduct
family1. The ambience is good & location is great. Calm & serene nag-in lake without chaos of the dal lake. 2 few mosquitoes were there n they had no provision of any mosquito repellant (mats or liquid fumigators like all out) 3. The staff was bare minimum but enough & very courteous. 4. Food was simple & tasty. But i dont know why it was very limited both in dinner & breakfast. We had to ask for extra food which was difficult to procure. They charged separately for exra omelette in breakfast despite of everything being complimentary, though the charges per se were not much. 5. Hot water was not available in one of the rooms, on asking the reply was that if u would ve informed then we would ve switched on the pressure motor & thing would ve resolved. In total it was nice stay could ve been excellent but then i guess some one needs to look little more carefully into the things. Recommended for stay.

Nice luxurious stay
Stay at Wangnoo heritage houseboat was good. The rooms, living room and dining area are very good. Balcony is the best location. Only one staff at the houseboat. Food room and stay all good. Worth the price but the food should be included in houseboat cost as nothing else is available nearby.

Amazing service

Needs a lot to work on
familyThe management really needs to work on the houseboat and the services. The fixtures are old and dilapidated. The food is very very poor and hygiene is a major major issue. The staff was very friendly but missing in action most of the time. No locks provided in the rooms, so leave your belongings at the mercy of god when you go out. The dining hall was in poor condition, the food was unpalatable.

We booked this houseboat via mmt. It was our first stay at a house boat that too for 2 days i was sceptical about staying in a house boat with kids but it was very nice and comfortable. Their staff was very helpful and hospitable. It was worth going

Horrible stay but nice location
familyAbsolutely pathetic management. Basic services like hot bathing and drinking water were not present. It was really dirty everywhere, the room was filled with stench from the washroom. Some of the staff members were really rude. There weren't many food options and most of it was tasteless. The only good aspect of this stay was the location and the view from the deck. The room was really small, even though they call it a suite. Also the deck area was shared among 5 -6 rooms and most of the time, other people were sitting there. The lighting inside wasn't great at all. Washrooms were really bad.
