We checked in early around 8. 30 am on 11th May. There was no one at reception, then one came in sleepy condition. The room he gave us was highly smelly. I spoke to the person on reception, but he said no other room available . . Then we contacted MMT as this is MMT assured hotel. I must tell MMT service was very prompt and helpful. Then hotel owner came to our room. He was really nice and helpful and provided us best room with no problem. Food was also nice. Overall good experience.

No hot water .. The guy there gave two buckets of hot water from his washroom once in a day .. Not good. Hitel is facing Dale lake, but rear side of Dale lake .. Not where actual shikara rides takes place .. Rear Dale lake is very dirty.

Pros: Good Location, Courteous Reception and Staff, Good Room Service although food is a bit costly but quality and quantity have no complaints. 24 hours hot water is available which is a great plus. Daily room cleaning . . Cons: The room lacked Dressing mirror which is nowadays available in even a non star hotel. This was a big Minus and is the duty of the hotel to have taken care off. No South Indian Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner options at hotel.

Superb place. Had booked the houseboat for the entire stay of 5N/6D Owners of the place were polite and ever ready to help in all aspects. Place was clean, well maintained and comfortable. Had breakfast as well as dinner - sumptuous is not the word Besides the tour planned by the houseboat owner, the Shikara and taxi person were every ready to offer tips what and what not to do Planned to go back sometime in the future.

On my holiday to Srinagar with my family during the first week of May 2017, I stayed at Mahatta Home Stay at Rajbagh, Srinagar. The ambience of the homestay was very good with beautiful garden, rooms overlooking the garden, with 24 hours hot water, heated beds. It is a perfect place for a perfect holiday. I should mention about Anita aunty, who runs the home stay. The food was simply yummy be it, Lunch or Dinner. Aunty always kept us guessing as to the dishes that would turn on the table. Aunty who also runs a cafe in Srinagar including South Indian cuisine is an awesome cook!! Morning breakfast were very sumptuous which kept us guessing as to what would be churned on the table. The food was always served hot, innovative like pancakes out of besan, spinach, aloo, aloo parathas, poori baji to mention a few. There were also stuffed grilled sandwiches with different mouth- watering stuffings. My family and I are strict non- vegetarians. But thanks to the innovative veg dishes prepared by aunty, we took a special liking to veg food during our entire stay. Aunty even prepared muffins out of tender coconut, which were really awesome. The bakery dishes were eggless as Mahatta Home stay is a strict vegetarian. Apart from this, I can never forget the way Aunty took care of me, when I suffered a twisted ankle during our visit to Kashmir valley in Pahalgam. Aunty was very helpful and we always turned to Aunt's advice and suggestions about places of visit, restaurants that serve to the local kashmiri signature delicacies and local shopping as to saffron, badam (almond), walnut and must also mention about the travel arrangements that Aunty guided us. She saw to that we were totally at ease with the taxi, she arranged during our stay. The driver of the taxi of whom I should make a special mention (Mr. Mohsin Khan) who took me to the hospital for the treatment of my twisted ankle and stayed with us 12 midnight, in spite of him having to take care of his wife who his 8 months pregnant. He has now become our family friend. People in J & K are more compassionate towards the needs of the people which makes them beautiful not only by appearance but more by their heart. Before my visit to Srinagar, I had apprehensions with regard to the safety of my family and me. But after my visit to Srinagar, I now feel my apprehensions with respect to safety are baseless. On the day we left to Chennai back, I was totally at loss of words to say goodbye to Aunty, as at that time only I realised how much Aunty and I have bonded together. Today being a mother's day, I look up to Aunty as my mother and my stay at her place was like I was in my mother's place. Hats off to Aunty and her team, for her compassion and commitment with which she goes about her home stay. Once again I am at loss of words to thank her and recommend her homestay.

Hospitality was certainly the foremost point. The houseboat owners Mr.Feroz and his father Mr.Mohammed took excellent care. They even offered us warm clothes for the rest of our trips. The food was very good as well. The transport they arranged for local sight seeing and for Pahalgam and Gulmarg was excellent as well. I would like to visit them again to experience the same again.

The location of this hotel is very good. Staff is really helpful. The owner of houseboat is very helpful. Book deluxe rooms that worth for money. Only problem is food. You have to order food from outside which is too expensive as per food quality. Stay is fantastic.

I was attracted to Srinagar by the charm of staying on a houseboat, which provides the unique experience of living on the water in a spanielled elegant bedroom, with all the conveniences of a luxury hotel, Houseboat Sweetstar is like a luxury hotel, has fine furniture, good carpets and modern bathroom fittings. It provides a balcony in the front, a lounge, dining room and bedrooms with attached bathrooms. Some time staying in a houseboat could give you the feeling of being trapped in the water as you are dependent on shikara all the time to come to the bank. But Houseboat Sweet star is directly is accessible from the banks which sets you absolutely free.
