I am writing to formally address the disappointing experience during my recent stay at Cherai Beach Resort, booked via MakeMyTrip (MMT).

Upon check-in, we were allotted the reserved room (No. 207 with a private pool), which initially met our expectations. However, on the evening of our stay, heavy rain revealed multiple leaks in the roof, causing water to seep into the room. As the rain intensified, both the room and the pathway leading to it became flooded, making it unsafe and uncomfortable.
We promptly reported the issue to the reception. Following their instructions, we requested a change to a similar room with a private pool. Unfortunately, we were relocated to Room No. 706 (Doctor’s Villa), which, while accommodating, did not have a private pool and was configured with three beds—clearly a downgrade from our original booking.
We requested an adjustment to the room rate, as the Doctor’s Villa is typically offered at a lower price, especially on weekdays. However, the staff informed us that no rate adjustment could be made since the booking was made online.
Given these circumstances, I am requesting a refund of the difference between the amount paid for the private pool villa and the standard rate for the Doctor’s Villa during our stay. Paying for two nights in the downgraded room is not justified, considering the inconvenience and the facilities provided.
