This is a 4 star right?

Like many reviews, some people expect something others think is unreasonable or it doesn’t bother them, for us, 4 star requires a certain standard and this didn’t meet it. I’ll start with the bad points. On getting to the room, there was no coffee machine, even a Premier Inn has a coffee machine! We called up and was told there was 1 in the lobby area on floor 1 that everyone has to use. I enjoy nothing more than a coffee in the morning, I don’t enjoy walking to a coffee machine only to waste the capsules as the machine wasn’t working correctly. Reception told us coffee was free in the lobby coffee shop, at the lobby coffee shop they told us we could have only 1 free coffee, which is it? I also had lipstick on the cup, I mentioned this was 4 star right? The hair dryer cuts out after about 15 seconds on a high heat and wallpaper was peeling off the walls. The bathroom was spacious however and the amenities were adequate although no facial tissues. We went to the gym & on route asked if there was water there, “no” came the reply, got to the gym, water cooler full to the brim along with tissue for wiping the equipment down. One day the cleaner took the 2nd room card with her as if left electronics on charge, I went to reception to ask for another, no apology and the one he gave me didn’t work! The outside area was a sea of fag butts in a grid and all over the area outside. The pool area was small and cramped and a distance from the actual hotel. They also didn’t replace my towel robe all week. Apart from that, the location was great for the Oceangraphic/Science Park, the 19 bus that took you to the beach one side of the road and into Valencia the other side and the Bus Touristic is just outside too. The shopping centre is also across the street with a few restaurants. Also free parking on Av de Franca a 2 minute walk from the hotel. Would I stay here again? Doubtful. I also found the general attitude in the area of Valencia was poor, slow in taking orders, slow in bringing drinks and so slow in bringing the bill, we just left $20 and walked off. Hardly a way to promote the area and bring in visitors and their money.

Excellent stay

We stayed at Primus for our honeymoon and will definitely be returning. The hotel is in a fantastic location, within walking distance to the beautiful old town, the port, beach and city centre. There is a great selection of bars and restaurants a stones throw from away, serving delicious traditional Valencian tapas and meals. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean and the staff are friendly and clearly work very hard keeping every thing up to standard. The reception staff were really helpful and pleasant each time we asked for anything. Nothing was too much trouble for them. There is a great selection for breakfast, and would recommend a visit to the spa for some relaxation.

Not for me, but good for other....

We booked this on recommendation and rather wish we hadn’t. Negatives first. The staff greeted us with indifference and that remained the case throughout. To the point where we we felt as if we were tolerated rather than welcomed. There was only one person who was genuinely friendly and she stood out because of that. We were even ignored having checked out this morning. Next, it is a four star hotel, by facilities, but not class. Rooms v basic yet hotel generally soulless due to stark black interior and atmosphere. Positives - room clean and bed comfortable. The location was a way out of old town Valencia, but when we realised that Valencia was more than that the location was actually rather good. Decent bars and restaurants close by and shopping centre over the road. It was also good value for money (for a 3*). I wouldn’t buy B and B either. There were a couple of cafes attached to the hotel which were absolutely fine, authentic and a lot cheaper than the hotel . The pool was tiny and in the garden and not very welcoming either. If I were to go back to V ( which is very nice) I would stay in the old town. If you’re reading this having booked to go don’t worry. Primes is fine and not bad, just not very good either

Confortable and clean

A four star hotel with great location near the center of science by foot or the marina and the city center by a 10 minute taxy ride. The rooms are clean and confortable and the price is fair. If you come by car it has it's own garage although payed as extra. Overall a good option.

Nice hotel in great location

A good quality hotel in a great location. Very central - 20 mins walk to the beach, 30 mins walk to the historic old town. Opposite a lovely, modern shopping mall and large department store. Good size room with large bathroom but all rooms have some noise from the road but this did not seem intrusive. Lovely outdoor pool and eating area but indoor bar and restaurant is a bit lacking in atmosphere. Staff all very helpful and accommodating and prices very reasonable.
