Lovely hotel!

My family and I spent 2 nights here while in Venice. The hotel was in the perfect location and central to all the main locales. Service was very good and the junior suite room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was terrific and the personalized attention provided by the staff member on both days was welcoming and hospitable. When we visit Venice again, we will most certainly stay here again.

A wonderful place to stay

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights and found it a great place to stay. On arrival a complimentary Bellini was delivered to our room which we could enjoy on a spacious balcony. This kick started a lovely stay. The room was incredibly clean and kept so throughout by a great housekeeping team. There was also a really strong focus on the environmental impacts of the hotel which is fantastic to see. Breakfast was substantial without being elaborate but more than enough to set you up for the day. The location is perfect with a leisurely 5 minute walk to San Marco's through the high end fashion shops and just 1 minute away from Giglio waterbus stop (Final stop of the Orange Alilaguna from the airport) and also a stop for the 1 waterbus that takes you all the way up the Grand Canal. A fine place to stay for an unforgettable trip!

Perfect Location!

What a wonderful location for our first visit to this wonderful city. Will certainly stay here again next time we return to this beautiful city. The staff were extremely helpful and considerate. Their advice ensured our evening meals were in top-class restaurants but not paying outrageous prices. Everyewhere we wanted to visit was within a 10 minute walking distance. The vaporetta stop was through a short alley-way and gondolas were at the bottom of the square. Our room was comfortable and overlooked the square where we could observe the passers-by visiting the little shop opposite and artists who set up his paintings everyday. A kitchenette was available in the room and made the stay even more comfortable in terms of amenities. The bathroom was large and clean with high quality toiletries available for use. The breakfast offered a good range of food in the morning including fresh fruit, pastries, scrambled eggs, ham and cheese.

Loved this gem of a hotel

Palazzo del Giglio was a most pleasant surprise. I really hadn't expected such a well kept, up-to-date hotel in this location. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. We had room 110, just at the top of the stairs. Their was a lovely fruit basket awaiting us, and then, a beautiful bottle of Prosecco and small bowl of peanuts was delivered to our room. Just what we needed after traveling for almost 24 hours. The staff was very friendly and answered all of our questions. And the breakfast was excellent. There were scrambled eggs and pancakes which usually aren't seen at European breakfasts. There was also a wide array of pastries, cereals, meats, cheeses and breads. The convenience to a Vaporetto stop made it that more perfect, and only a 5 minute walk to San Marco square. I would highly recommend this property to anyone I know heading to Florence. Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality.

Quaint hotel near St. Mark's S....

We selected this hotel based on reviews and it's location to St. Mark's Square (5 min walk). After spending 2 nights there we agree that this is a wonderful hotel and it's location is excellent. We arrived into Venice via train. Upon exiting the station you are on the canal were you have a choice of selecting a water taxi or water bus. Our first surprise was just how easy it was to get to the hotel via water bus #1. It is about a half hour ride to the Giglio stop. There you walk straight up the alley until you come to a large opening, the hotel is across the square on the right. Check in was pleasant, the clerk provided information, brochures and a map of Venice to help with our stay. Our room was surprising spacious overlooking the square, included a large couch, a couple of straight back chairs and even had a kitchenette area. We also found a lovely bowl of fruit, as well as slippers in the room - very nice, unexpected amenities. The mattress and pillows were really very comfortable, a huge difference from other hotels we stayed in Italy where we found the mattresses extremely firm (like a board) and pillows amazingly flat. Also, unlike typical European bathrooms, our bathroom was very roomy. What a pleasure!! It was the best shower I had on our Italian vacation (we stopped in Florence and Rome). The wi-fi worked wonderfully and the breakfast was again the best of our trip. Note, the elevator is SMALL. This is a quaint hotel and we do recommend it to others.
