Good place to stay
The place is spacious, clean, and well maintained. The service is good. Not many choices in breakfast but it is decent with coffee, bread, butter, Nutella, croissants, and one type of cereal. Cookies and wafers were also present. The location of the place is ideal. It is about 5 mins walk from the Termini station. About 15 mins from Collesium. Basilica Maggiore is just across the street from it. Stefano, the owner, was quite helpful in explaining things.

perfect for stay
Only 5 min. walk from Termini station, in front of Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore. The bar?(trattoria? geratteria) on the grand floor of the same building is useful. The neighbor supermarkets are also useful. Our room was very spacious and fully equipped with great view. Despite the lasting lack of water of Roma city, our stay was really pleasant and unforgettable. We shall stay here again ! Thanks Stefano!

Such a lovely Roman stay
I had a lovely stay in this typical roman style abode . The location was perfect for me to be away from the huge touristy crowd and yet close to the historic centre. I walked thrice to the colosseum from this place.
Stefanno , the owner had extremely proactive in replying to my emails to arranging my pick up from the airport. Even the care taker staff was kind and helpful.
My room was facing the road so it was such a great feeling to wake up with the sound of church bells.
Only a minor advice, the flow of warm water is slow so it takes a longer to take a shower.
I strongly recommend this place for your Roman adventure.
Thank you Maior

What dreams are made of: Great....
I love this place. I booked it b/c of it's proximity to Roma Termini, but it's close to most of the sights that you want to see if you're in Rome. The space is sweet, comfortable, and well maintained. Stefano, the guy who checks you in, is a lovely, competent, helpful human being. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to all friends.

Maior B&B Rome 11-15 June '17
We initially had difficulty spotting this B&B, despite directions from Stefano, as it is on the first floor of a shared building, hidden behind huge brown doors with no external signage. But it was exactly where it was shown to be on the information provided by Stefano.
It is situated near the top of the street, to the right of the front of the Basilica Maggiore. There is a small shared entry intercom with Maior listed next the button.
We were buzzed in through the large front door and entered to the left once inside.
There is an antique but functioning lift available together with a flight of stairs. The rooms are on the first floor.
Stefano was lovely and welcomed us on entry and explained the service offered in Maior B&B. He was willing to offer advice or answer any question and provided contact details should be need him.
The room was a good size, spotlessly clean and airy. It looked exactly like the photograph.
Air conditioning is available, the lowest temperature setting being 16*C. It was 34* outside so we found it very useful and meant we slept well.
The room included a fridge complete with bottled water and cartons of juice which were topped up daily. Also yoghurt, jam, Nutella and butter for breakfast. Cornflakes and brioche buns were also in the room. A table was set in the room with cups, plates and cutlery. There were only 2 cereal bowls available when we were there so we just used tea cups for cereal instead.
Additionally there is a breakfast room containing bread, a toaster, a fridge with milk, kettles, tea and coffee, biscuits, espresso coffee maker (pods in bedroom).
All food and drink were included and available all day.
The free WIFI worked best in the breakfast room, I could also use it in my room although the connection was not reliable. It was a bit slow all round.
The bedroom area contained two beds pushed together which made them more spacious than a normal double bed. Firm but comfortable and clean.
There was walk in wardrobe which was more than adequate for a 4 day stay.
Also a good sized digital safe, big enough for iPad or even a small MacBook.
The bathroom was nicely tiled, clean and fresh and contained towels, shower gel and liquid soap for hand washing. We always had hot water for showers.
A hairdryer was next to the sink and worked well enough for me.
There are shutters outside the double glazed windows and blackout shutters inside. There is a bell tower opposite the building but sleep was not disturbed by the ringing or the busy early morning traffic, which was interesting to watch.
The B&B is only a couple for blocks from the Termini train station and once we got our bearings, easy and convenient to find.
There are lots of places to eat scattered around the streets nearby, from small home cooked Trattorias to fast food outlets, including of course McDonalds both in and out of the station, which also contained a small shopping mall. There is a supermarket on the corner opposite Maior and a small restaurant just outside.
There are a number of beggars around Rome but they did not approach for money, just sat where they were. Some were rather well fed!
There were traders who would approach people sat in bars and restaurants or walking around, but most would withdraw with a simple head shake or no thanks.
I would recommend Maior as we found it clean, central and convenient. We booked directly through Maior website.
