The view from this hotel is truly amazing. We had taken a Deluxe Villa room with pool. The room was large and comfortable. From our room we got an amazing view of the mountain and the Ayung River. The service was good. The food was however average.

This was a very pleasant stay. The resort is set in a splendid location and the villas have breathtaking views. Being a vegetarian, food was the only problem. Nearest restaurants are in ubud market which is 10 minutes on a scooter. Overall, glad we chose this for our honeymoon.

Booked on friends' recommendation, they did not prepare us for this wonderful resort. Fabulous villa with awesome views down over the Ayung River! Great breakfast with super attentive staff and bonus of afternoon tea. The hotel had just changed over to buffet style breakfast and were keen for guests to comment on what they felt about it and how they had coped with the change. No complaints from us, except one morning the potatoes were cold and undercooked but that was put right the next day. A wide selection of delicious Asian and International food on offer The Spa is incredible. And the villa! Absolutely magnificent! If or rather when we return to Bali we will look no further than the RPM.

The perfect place for a secluded and restful break, that’s also within easy access to town.
We had 6 nights in a pool villa near the top of the gorge. It hurt to leave! What we loved: the exceptionally warm and efficient service, delicious breakfast on the terrace overlooking the gorge, everything about the river side Organic restaurant (don’t miss taking breakfast or lunch there), lazing by the river, swimming laps in the enormous lagoon pool that runs by the river, enjoying our beautiful private villa (with large, private infinity edge pool) while taking in the view of the gorge, flowering tropical plants and birdlife, morning yoga by the river and hearing the calming sound of the river flowing as we drifted off to sleep in our enormous bed.
The shuttle to town is very convenient (not sure about it being a 20 min walk to town – think that reviewer may be confusing this hotel with the less luxurious Pita Maha).
Yes there are stairs on the grounds but there are lifts too so you can avoid walking up some of them. It’s so worth taking the walk down to the river though that you forget about the stairs and there are lots of lovely places to stop, rest and take in the view.
What we didn’t like: Nothing – other than having to leave!
The healing villas are more expensive and right by the river but they looked amazing and have a little more undercover outside space than the beautiful pool villas.
We’ll go out of our way to stay at the Royal Pita Maha again!

This Resort is the real deal. It literally is "Heaven on Earth". The Villa views are great, King Size beds are Huge and cumfy, private infinity edge pools are divine, the walk down to the Agung River, Holy Pools and Organic restaurant by the river is truly sublime. The included 3 Course breakfasts with morning views are excellent. Just FYI, I have had 30+ years experience in 5 star Hotels and resorts. This is a Must Do bucket list experience!!
