Don't come by car
The location of this hotel is excellent to walk around Heidelberg as it is right in the middle of the pedestrian area. Getting there by car is so difficult that I suggest, if you must come by car, put the postcode 69117 in your satnav which will take you to P12 Kornmarkt multistorey car park. Then walk the 1/4 mile to the hotel.
The hotel is old, with sloping floors, and the accommodation is fairly basic. Clean, most facilities are there but some lights did not work in my room and the telly displayed some 300 channels but only a few worked. The receptionist was professional and friendly. I was kept awake until 1am by the noise from the bars in the street outside/ if you want to go to a town with boisterous bars open until 1am this is a good place to go!

A Good Option
Even the Hotel Building is an old one but the site is quite well and reasonably maintained and the Hotel reception Staff was cordial and helpful. Located right next to the market /old town square, there is a convenience store just across the Square. The triple room was quite spacious and roomy and the breakfast was average. being right in the center and 2 minutes from the river promenade, it offers a comfortable and convenient stay option at Heidelberg.

The lady at the reception spoke perfect English and was very helpful. The location is the best being only 1/2 of a block from the old town square. We parked the car in a parking garage and walked everywhere. The breakfast was good as well. Would definitely recommend.

An old hotel at the price of a....
It is really central, the position is great, but..
It is quite old, and you will immediately recognize by the smell! Our room was not as clean as we would expected, it needs to be renovated and the moquette to be replaced asap... even we didn't get the room cleaned in the second day. Not to mention the electric cables... not so safe!
With the price we paid, I was expecting much much more.
In addition, being so central we have enjoyed the noise from the street and sleeping was not so comfortable.
Personally, until you don't get a room for 50€, run away from this hotel!

Very fine, most centrally loca....
It might be a nightmare to get to this hotel by car or tour bus, but for me it was perfect. I took the bus No. 33 from the train station, got to the Universitaetsplatz and walked the rest, ca. 6 minutes. Relatively small hotel, but nice lobby, friendly receptionists. No elevator, it's an old building. Room was rather small, but sufficient, with tv, and even a fridge. Bed wonderful. Bathroom small, but again, good enough, with a great shower. A little skimpy on soaps and shampoos. Breakfast offered a good buffet spread, which could include scrambled eggs, but everything else was just fine. Room was rather warm, and noise level was high (center of town!). From this hotel everything is just a stone-throw away.
