Ok for the price
I used to work as a tour guide and have seen alot of different hotel rooms. This is a OK place to stay in for the low price and for let's say 3-4 nights. Clean, free WiFi(almost never get it for free in other places), and a helpful staff. They didn't speak English but tried to help anyway. Close to cafes, restaurants and basic shopping.

The location of the hotel is great! Neat neighborhood, a fantastic döner place across the street, at least two great breakfast places. Close to the subway and a ten-fifteen minute walk, or one station with the subway, is a tram station. South of the Karl Marx allee there is the area around Boxhagener which is a great place for breakfast and bars.
The hotel room was okay. Our room and our friends room were rather big and high to the ceiling. Our rooms had bathrooms which was really comfortable. The fine print when we booked said that there could be some noice from outside. Our room was facing the church and our friends room a street. None of us were disturbed by these factors.
However, the door to the room was REALLY thin and we could hear everything outside it. On both saturday morning and sunday morning me and my partner were woken up by two guys who I think were running the marathon. They were loud and on the sunday we woke up at 06.55 because they were talking so loud. I knocked on our door and said "sch" and it was like they didn't know there were other people at the hotel. We could also hear the guests next to us.
I realise remodeling the rooms would cost too much, but maybe thicker doors and some frames with fabric on the walls would make things better. Or maybe something on the door to tell other guests which rooms are taken or not.
We were there by the end of September and it wasn't very cold outside, but our rooms were pretty cold. The bathrooms are built like cubicles and the bathroom floor was really cold.
There were small fridges in the rooms. They weren't turned on when we arrived, which would have been nice.
When the hotel isn't staffed you go enter through a hallway which also leads to other apartments. The door to the hotel was really hard to lock when we went out or came in.
Other things would be nice would be if there was glasses on the rooom. And since there are no bar or restaurant in the hotel, an electric kettle, mugs, tea/powdered coffee and sugars would be nice.
Bring your own shampoo and conditioner, since there is only a hair/body thing in the shower.
Beds were hard (we could feel the springs) and squeaky. Since it's being a double bed with two mattrasses, maybe a large, thin mattress over the both beds would be a good idea.
Overall, we were really satisfied with the rooms, despite the small faults. We were looking for cheap acommodation and we got what we wanted.

I had to leave before expected....
Horrible stay! Had a plague of insects in my room just the first night I was there and had to leave. The receptionist didn't even speak English so she didn't understand, and she wouldn't give me another room or refund me my money.
Finally a couple of days after I returned and they did refund the money of the days that I didn't stay but definitely not going back!

I made a bad choice. I chose “Insor Hotel” which is open only from 2:00pm to 8:00pm. Unheard-of… Even though I paid for this hotel, I had to go and get another one... Next day I arrived around 3:00pm. I tried to talk with receptionist but she did not speak any English at all. She spoke German but I don't… Fortunately, we were able to communicate in Russian.
The room looked like on the photo on the Internet. The room was fairly clean and quite specious. There was also a sink in my room but ONLY with cold water. Unbelievable... It is located almost in the center of Berlin, the capitol of Germany. I could not believe that civilization in 2015 did not get there yet… Moreover, they supposed to have free Internet, but this free internet was either as slow as a snail or, most of the time, was not working at all.
I have to admit that I chose this hotel JUST because on www.expedia.com was information that they have free parking lot. In fact, they don't provide free parking lot. They ask guests to park the car on the street next to hotel. It is extremely difficult to find a spot, since it is for free, everyone wants to park there.
In conclusion, I don't recommend this hotel and next time, I will go to another hotel.
