WE stayed here as part of our tour package . I guess they put us here because it is a little out of the way from most of the sites. I liked it though. The rooms were very nice and the breakfast was very good. Its in the south west part of the city.

A good 4 star hotel
My wife and I stayed in this hotel recently and it was very good, the best we stayed in during our 25 day tour of china. Big entrance lobby with welcoming staff when we arrived. The room was large and comfortable. Indeed our queen size beds and bedding were as good as what we would have at home. English language chennels on the tv. Very good shower and bath. Tea making facilities and two free bottles of water. Room was quiet. Wifi was fine throughout the hotel. The English style breakfast on the second floor was very good with decently cooked bacon, omlettes freshly cooked, plenty of fresh fruit and yogurt, etc. We did have some problems with a window that would not close properly and a chair. We advised our cleaner and both were addressed later that day by staff with a smile. We stayed two nights and were very happy. I would recommend this hotel.

They just don't give a F
During my recent trip in China I was unpleasantly surprised by hotels. You can see that they were not old, they were just poorly maintained. It seems that worries of hotel owner end with the construction of hotel.
They change sheets, do minimal upkeep but be prepared to see uncleaned carpets, chairs, stained walls, ceilings and stuff like that.
This hotel stood out out of 3 other hotels in similar condition due to completely lack of staff interest in their hotel. It seems that they haven't vacuumed rug even behind the reception desk.
I learned not to expect for them to bother with washing but they could have at least vacuumed. Others at least did that - staff in this hotel aren't interested at all in how their hotel looks.

Try somewhere else
Was a bit dated and old. The breakfast was disappointing, no western food except toast and the orange juice was 50% water. We also asked for some cold milk to have with our coffee and told that was not possible only the dirty old looking boiling curdled milk was available.
The whole place also stank of cigarette smoke as people could smoke inside and the rooms stank as well.
We requested non smoking and was told it was, even though there was an ashtray available and the room stank of smoke.
Would try elsewhere next time. Guilin is absolutely beautiful and it was a shame to be let down by the hotel.

Bit tired and not so clean
This hotel is out of the main tourist area - its quite a walk from where the airport bus drops you off. The hotel is a bit tired and the carpets not so clean, with black hairs on the clean fresh towells. I arrived after 10pm and teh night manager refused to ring my tour guide to confirm for teh next morning for me. I also asked for a plug to charge my iphone but they didnt understand me. I would pay a bit extra and stay near the river in the main CBD area eg the Sheraton.
