This property main highlight is it’s location, simply awesome . Very well maintained , good landscaping.we could see Kunchanjanga range from my room itself, food choices were limited but tasty food. Housekeeping and restaurant people were really nice and very helpful

Magpie Chestnut in Pelling is a beautiful property with stunning views. The staff is cooperative and friendly, making the stay comfortable. Food is fine and overall service is good.

We had a wonderful stay at Magpie Chestnut Retreat, Pelling with my family. The view of Mount Kanchenjunga from the property was breathtaking. The staff were very kind and helpful, and Ms. Indu Chettri, Chef Ratan Pradhan along their entire team made us feel so cared for, they went above and beyond by preparing delicious, authentic Nepali food that tasted just like home. It was a truly homely and memorable experience, and we would love to come back again. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Pelling.

Great stay with Kanchanjangha view(if lucky). Food is also decent and the staff is courteous and helpful.

We had a very comfortable stay at the property. The ambience was serene with so much greenery around with the clouds. The food was tasty and the service provided was fast. Rooms are big with Mt Kanchenjunga view. A must stay at pelling

Excellent location, rooms located at heights so that u can have perfect view of Kanchenjunga hills. Snow covered mountain peaks are clearly visible . Rooms are good , but more maintenance required. Food quality is good , u won’t get so many items in the menu but sufficient items are available for you to select. Behaviour of staff is very good. There is sufficient space to spend your day at the resort itself .

Location is awesome. Property is exclusive. But the service is pathetic. And the food is below average

The Magpie Chestnut is an experience. Such well developed and landscaped property. You have that feeling of AHA the moment you step on it. The backdrop and the front view of the retreat is amazing. If you are lucky you will get to see the full panoramic view of the Kanchendjhonga right from your bed.

The stay experience was excellent. When you are in hills do not compare the service with other experiences. Food options are limited.

Food quality and choice can be improved considerably

Room was clean. Ambience was good. But in my room the bathroom door knob and the geyser was not working. The view from the balcony was picturesque.

stay was good. However, the wet area and the dry area has to be separated in the bathroom ...plus for the cottages, they have to work with the mechanism of providing warm water in a way that hot water is available without a gap

Staff is quite untrained and don't know have the basic knowledge of Buffet. Food quality was pathetic and during dinner they had taken almost an hour to prepare the food which is of no use for us because of bad quality and tatse

We stayed 4 people family for a night .. property location is wonderful .. rooms are little old with min facility but still spacious .. and food was average with limited choice .. but staff was good .. and overall it’s a good experience..
