Review Of Yule Tea Retreat | A Premium Heritage HotelLike a 4

I reached yule tea retreat on 03/05 and was forced to extend my stay from 2 to 3 days because of natural calamity.The staffs were cooperative food was great but the service was hampered due to weather conditions.They tried their best ,but being a premium property I expected more.Neverthless under suitable conditions it will definitely please everyone.Mind you don't book the oolong room,all others are fabulous.

It is very difficult to reach the location of the property since the access road of 7 km is very poor. Property area is very small including the garden. The property needs immediate renovation. Small things viz. bathroom rack or even soap holder is missing. Breakfast, lunch, high tea and dinner are good. Manager of the resort viz. Shri Sujeet Pathak is very helpful. One small library is maintained. Kids can spend time with board games or dart. Nearby places are Simana, Pashupati Nagar (Nepal), Mirik, Ghoom, Darjeeling but the main constraint is access road.

Excellent natural scenic location. Warm and decent staffs and very good service and comfortable stay and friendly manager.

Wonderful experience with excellent food.kudos to Sujit for looking after us .Had a breathtaking view of the snow capped Kanchenjunga as a bonus.

Excellent location , though it may be a bit challenging to reach by car if you are not an expert driver. Key good parts are location, the experience of staying in an heritage tea bungalow, cleanliness and overall comfort, the food. Key areas to improve, overall upkeep mainly in terms repairs at someplace, getting better power backup.

We stayed in this property for 5 days and we had a great time. Property location is good but the road near the place for 7km is bad. Manager Mr Sujit is very nice and helpful. They have efficient team to give service and maintain. Food is excellent and rooms are clean and comfortable and well maintained. Books and games are available to spend quality time. Cook Mr Kapil makes tasty and delicious food of all kinds including South Indian cuisine. Waiters Saphal and Pranjal are very efficient. We were served First flush tea at retreat courtesy Mr Sujit.

Location is too good. Food was tasty and delightful items. Service excellent. The staff are well behaved .

Excepting for one room , other rooms don't have any window opening towards outside. It feels claustrophobic at times. The bathroom too has only bathtub , which does not meet our Indian requirement. The bathroom also should be equipped with clothes hanging facilities. The worst nightmare was the pathetic condition of the approach road , which needs a lot of repair work. Otherwise, the food quality and housekeeping was very good And finally, there should be an intercom facility to request for services from the staff .

This place seems like a slide of heaven. We struggled to reach here through a treacherous journey only to glare at the magnificence of the snow clad mountains nestled in this idyllic tea estate. The bungalow with its new management bowled me over with their hospitality. Colonial elegance strewn all over. Sprawling rooms, mesmerising views and hot and sumptuous meals served with great love and care made us momentarily feel like the sahibs of the british raj. Totally worth the visit and the money. Must visit !

Beautiful property after 7 km life risky mountain road (should only go if you have 4x4. Government property now privately managed. The most special feature are the 3 host - manager mr sujit pathak, chef mr rawat (cooks continental, chinese and bengali non-veg equally good) and butler mr kushank.

Just one word for the property "wow. If you really want to enjoy the surrounding stay at least for 2 nights. More than the property it's the hospitality of mr sujit pathak, chef rawat and kushank which makes the stay fascinating

We had a delightful stay at Yule Tea Retreat, nestled amidst a serene tea garden that exudes old-world charm. The colonial bungalow which has been since mid-1800s offers excellent views and a peaceful atmosphere. The last 10 minutes of the approach road is a bit tricky, but driving through an actual tea garden adds to the experience. Warm hospitality by Manager Mr. Sujit and the cordial staff made our stay even more pleasant. The food was homely and thoughtfully prepared. Overall, a quaint and memorable retreat for those seeking a quiet escape. Will definitely come back again!

Wonderful food and very courteous service. The view from the lawn and the first flush tea is heavenly.
