Hilltop Hideaway Homestay in Sonada, Darjeeling is a serene retreat nestled high up in the mountains. A truly refreshing experience, far from the noise of city life. Thanks to the owner Nirupama Ma'am for making our stay truly memorable.

The property shows in darjeeling but is very far away from darjeeling, even away from main market and the owner gave different room as shown in listings.

I have traveling for more than 10 yrs and i prefer homestays. This is the most arrogant owner i have ever came across. Cons 1. Its a very narrow road to the homestay. Suvs got to struggle a lot. 2. You have to walk 100mts in a bushy narrow path. Not recommended for kids and family. 3. I booked 2 suite rooms and the tap was broken in one room. They tried to fix but wasn't able to do it. We struggled a whole night with one bucket of water provided by them 4. The next when i spoke to the owner nirupama about the issues with water and electricity. She didn't even had the patience to listen. 5. She will make you feel like you are staying here for free and you have to adjust. If not you can leave. 6. For people who are coming to darjeeling for the first time. This property is 20kms away from darjeeling town in a difference direction. I ended up paying extra money for the cab. 7. I cancel-led my booking and checked out because of the owner's arrogance. The local cab driver who picked us up had a loads of complaints on yhe owner, as she pays rs500 as commision for the cab drivers for getting the guests but never pay the cab drivers the full amount. Pros 1. The care taker amit was a nice decent guy. He took lot if effort to correct the inconveniences. This property is surviving only because of hime 2. The view from the property us good 3. The owner is not in the property. Talking with her on phone was pathetic, meeting in ono on one would have been a nightmare. 4. If you want to take revenge on someone you can recommend this property to them. That will the best revenge you can take.

Excellent hospitality, food quality is excellent with their limited resource. They take care their guest as family members. Homestay owner behaviour is like own family member.

The entire stay was excellent. The owner nirupama ji and her team specially amit pradhan are extremely polite and supportive. Food cooked by amit was unforgettable. Nirupama ji continuously was in touch with us. I would love to recommend to choose this place. Thanks one again!

Superb experience. Overall ambience is too good. Hospitality is amazing. We have taken family room and secnic beauty from the room is too good. Room is neat and clean. Adjacent veranda is awesome to enjoy the beauty of the nature with a cup of darjeeling tea. Architecture and ambience in the kitchen is mind blowing. Food quality is very good. Last but not the least, behaviour and hospitality of ms nirupama - owner of the resort is too good.

Hygienic room well decorated site, fresh harvested vegetable, timely arranged food, friendly environment, can avail cab if asked, view from the hotel is fine. One can experience peace while their stay 😌. Highly recommend 👌

The room was big enough, the room decoration was top notch. The bathroom was pretty big. Everything was very neat, minimalistic, classy and clean. The entrance lawn was very beautiful. It was quite away from the caoc, so it was very peaceful. But it comes under a price. The road from sonada station to hotel is quite stiff and you have to walk for 10-15 minutes, which is exhausting. The food was very simple but nice. I could have various options for food.

Peaceful location. I was going with my family, my two children both are enjoyed alot. Food quality and test is awesome. Staff behaviour is very good.

Hilltop hideaway inn at sonada is a perfect getaway from city’s busy life. I had a lot of fun climbing mountains and visiting nearby areas. Sonada is very clean and culture rich. The host is very helpful. People in this area are very humble and go out of their way to provide directions to cool places to visit. If you are landing at bagdogra airport, you must include hilltop hideaway inn at sonada in your itinerary.

Ambience and property is excellent food is nice and hospitality is next level

We booked one room for 3 adults and 1 child. The room with the view. But, upon reaching there. They provided us with two separate rooms, that too in different floors. Which was extremely difficult for us. Then comes the approach road for this property. It's extremely steep and narrow. Cars from njp will drop u before this steep part. You need to take another car to reach there. The rooms were damp, carpets on the floor was not clean. Bathroom didn't have exhaust. The saving grace was the extreme humility and impressive hospitality of the supporting staff there. Mr. Amit pradhan. He is such a nice person and a very good cook too ! loved the food there.

My wonderful experience at hilltop hideaway inn starting from the picturesque location, the homely environment, the courteous caretakers and most importantly the host who made us feel like family and shared valuable parting gifts will always remain in the memory. Thank you nirupama, amit, krishna for taking care of us.

Our stay at this hotel very good. Hotel staff is very polite and driver which are provided by hotel for site seen that is also very good and polite person. Really darjeeling is awesome place. Must visit once.

The mountain view is 360⁰ from the top floor. The rooms are wooden with a very beautiful exterior and interesting set up. Staff is very friendly.

This place is really a hide away if you want to stay few days in the womb of nature and without noise, pollution and city crowd. This place is in upper sonada and surrounded by forest different type of birds butterflies. Though the road conditions not that much good and really very steep. All the food served here are home like. I really like this place and property.

It was a nice stay at the hilltop hideaway home stay. Nice cool surrounding. Staff behaviour was also very polite. Food taste was just awesome and was very much homely. We will surely visit there in near future.
