Bad attitude of management

The room allotted was suffocating and after our request they agreed to change the room without any extra charge. However after shifting we were asked to pay additional amount, this is completely unacceptable and rigid attitude of the management. As such the resort was empty. Will not recommend to anyone.

We had an amazing stay. What a property and more so how beautiful were the people and their warmth. The property is surrounded by nature, hills, trees, tea gardens and flowers all around. What vibrant colors. And of course the tea. The resort actually presented us tea bags as gifts. Chamong chiabari is place to sooth your soul. Will visit again for sure.

I stayed here in first week of may. Hotel is nicely located if you are looking for peaceful stay outside of city. Ch-among chabari has very humble team. I liked their variety of food and service. Ample amount of space for kids to play.

familyMy fiance and my parents stayed for 2nights. The place was mesmerizing in it's beauty, premium in it's build, professional and amiable in service and tasty and filling in food. The service person shalim, dawa, suvarna, mukesh all were attentive of our needs and gave quick service with a smile. We walked the entire gardens till the factory and the walk was secure, nature deep and peaceful. Mr. Choudhary from the ch-among tea factory gave us a detailed tour of the plant. I went during holi 2023 so the tea bushes had not been sprung so anyone who wishes to see tea leaves in full growth, april-july is a good time. I will never forget my stay there. Thanks ch-among chiabari team!

Paradise in the mountains

coupleCh-among chiabari is everything you expect from a tea estate in the mountains! it is surrounded by tea gardens as far as the eye can see! it is in a valley surrounded by mountains so every so often, there are clouds descending around you! the rooms are large and very tastefully decorated. The staff are very polite and efficient. We had opted for a breakfast dinner package - all the meals were delicious, freshly prepared and very well cooked! the dinner items are endless! there are small walk you can go for around the property, but beware of reasonably steep climbs!also if you take one of the staff for a walk to their tea garden, it is chargeable. This is truly a 5 star property and will tick all your boxes for a tea garden stay. The negatives are that the last 6 kms of the road is really bad and the tariff is rather high. Darjeeling is about 1. 5 hours by road, so if you want to visit, then best to do so on your way to chamong, do that you don't have to drive to darjeeling again. And that way you can just stay in ch-among and enjoy the beauty and luxury of the place.

Scenic weekend getaway nestled in the himalays

What I loved: - nice rooms: spacious, tastefully decorated rooms. Lots of cozy corners to enjoy tea and mountain views. While booking, I strongly suggest picking rooms with a tea garden view. And the rooms near the restaurant had the best views in my opinion. - tea garden tour: the retreat arranged a tour of their tea processing plant which was a very interesting and informative experience. They arranged the pick-up and drop as well - walking trails: there are lots of walking paths near and around the property. Most can be covered easily but some can be slippery depending on the weather - prompt and polite service - good wifi and cell network(airtel) - romantic: if you live in the Siliguri area, this is a perfect weekend getaway for couples - local employment: all the staff working here is local and is delighted to help guests - location: because it is so far away from Darjeeling city, you are sheltered from all the bustle of the city. It is a very peaceful spot and perfect for those who are keen on meditation - taxi availability: there is a taxi stand/general store just behind the hotel, en route to the local temple. You can easily book your taxi back to Darjeeling/airport what i did not like - food: the staff did their best, but for the price, the food is just average. The cuisine is mostly north indian, with an occasional traditional bengali dish. Everything we ordered was served promptly but the culinary expertise was lacking. Because there isn’t another restaurant nearby, we were ready for something different after 4 meals - activities: this is a perfect spot if you want to meditate/read a book/silent retreat/relax. Please don’t chose this spot if you are planning a (loud, drinking) staycation with a bunch of friends. The other guests will not appreciate it.
