Great location, friendly and polite staff. Amazing delicious food.

No heater, all the time they say power outage and no good food. For every food they are charging 2000 rs, just to take one plate they are charging 300. To go from dal lake ghat no to boat house they are charging 200 and one day they did not take us inside. Worst and pathetic experience.

Very clean houseboat and perfectly located on dal lake, about 10 mins shikara ride from gate 13 of dal lake. Noshir (caretaker) was extremely helpful during our entire stay. He was kind enough to drop us on shikara at 6am in cold weather as we had flight to catch at 9am. Food was excellent. Overall a must visit houseboat in srinagar.

Though the stay was good there was a power outage from 10 pm to 5 am. The owner and his employees had taken good care of us.

Dal lake in itself is an unique experience and it enjoy it to the fullest, houseboat stay is a must. Kola group of house boats is an expensive option, but it's totally worth it pros 1. The decor and styling of the boat is excellent, you get the ornate rich kashmiri touch, in the way the boat and it's interior is set 2. Hospitality is excellent, mr kola himself supervises all of the needs and the staff are simply superb 3. The food is something to drool for, though the dishes are simple, it was the best meal we had in kashmir 4. The shikara ride is beautiful, and a must do especially in the evening hours cons 1. The wifi signal was weak 2. I would not claim that the house boat stay in dal lake is elderly friendly. My father who has knee issues found it very difficult to get in and out of the shikara, i think they should modify the shikara to suit the aged and disabled 3. Most of the shikaras we saw are not giving life jackets, considering the extent and depth of the lake, it's an unwise decision 4. The price range is on the expensive side, you will get cheaper options in dal lake, but the facilities and hospitality makes it totally worth
