Decent stay

Wonderful stay need slight upgrade!

One crack away from sinking into the dal lake.
coupleThe houseboat is tilted on the left side. The rooms are as old as my grandmother, half of the lights weren't working. Electricity shortage every few hours. No proper locks on the doors. The bathroom needs serious repair. And to top it all, there is an old man who is the caretaker of the houseboat, who creeps around. The caretaker will come inside your room with or without your permission at oddly hours. There is no room service maintenance even while you are staying there. The only good thing about the place is the owner, who will help you out as he can but even those tasks are limited and the location of the houseboat. Please go if you want a creepy bizarre stay. I don't know how people are rating this place but it needs serious work before they can open it to the public.

Felt closer to nature
Usually dal lake is crowded so booked in nigeen lake the boat was surrounded by beautiful lotus and view of both lake and mountain we woke up to sounds of birds chirping and catching fish no hustle bustle of surroundings just pristine nature and the housekeeper is hospitable as well

coupleStay is of a unique kind in the houseboat which is different in some aspects from professional hotel stay. Stay is comfortable as much as it can be in a houseboat. You can speak with silence and the historical heritage if you prefer that type. The wooden designs and furnitures in the boat are "kingly" and majestic as per common stays. Houseboat owners are warm, hospitable and helpful. This may not be the perfect cozy stay that you can expect in hotel, but the memories will remain imprinted for years later. Still whenever i remember my stay, i still feel short of appreciating the beauty houseboat interiors and captivating scenery of the dal lake welcoming you in the lap of nature.

Amazing stay on houseboats
familyMy parents stayed here and they enjoyed every bit of it. The staff was so helpful. My parents are senior citizens so i was a little concerned as to how they will manage but it was a lovely experience for them. The hotel staff helped them in booking a cab too for sightseeing in and around srinagar. Delicious home made breakfast was served and dinner too.

I booked this houseboat after reading many positive reviews. But it disappointed me. There was no room heater. Bathroom was conjusted, small and smelly. But above all the behaviour of the owner disappointed me. The owner behaved as we were doing something wrong. Every now and then he came to see us and knocked the door. There was an instance when me and my sister were sleeping that's why we were bit late to open the door. He knocked the door so hard that it broke our sleep. Than he entered the room and look here and there as if we were committing some illegal thing there. One night we switched on the lights of the balcony and the hall. He immediately came to us and told us to switch off the lights. He was treating us like criminals.

Worth it
Great houseboat to stay at. Very kind and helpful hosts in karim bhai and his sons. Home-cooked food is available and worth it. Its located on the backside of nigeen lake which is quiet and away from hustle bustle of dal lake. The houseboat was very clean, the common areas very well maintained. A very kashmiri ambience to say the least. For discerning customers who like quality, tranquil and class during their stay.

Overall happy
Due to poor influx of tourists got this for a fraction of its peak season price. Didn't get any welcome Khawa or any such thing since things are a bit depressing in Kashmir. But overall happy. Would ask more tourists to take this opportunity of getting great deals in Kashmir and visit it... There are absolutely no security issues and things are being blown out or proportion on TV as part of a well thought of.

Serene location and awesome host
Awesome stay. Had some problem with hot water but was resolved soon. Awesome location and very serene. Rooms are in very good conditions. Hosts are very friendly and nice. Food was awesome. Had most amazing Kashmiri food ever.

Good Stay
Hotel was easily located and beautifully designed, it is a tourist place and a hot spot. The staff is well mannered and well behaved. The food is purely veg and freshly made though a little bit expensive but gives the full service and value for money. The breakfast is good and rooms are cleaned and new bed sheets can be given upon asking. The fried dal and salad here is awesome.

On waters super calm feels like you have enjoyed the life nice and facilities are also good, food is not that good its complete non veg that is the only problem, veg is nothing buy bread over there even egg is not available that is the issue.
