This was supposed to be a peaceful family getaway, but it turned into a traumatic nightmare, all thanks to MakeMyTrip and Holiday Home Resorts, Kodaikanal.
I booked our stay through MakeMyTrip in February, only to find the same room now available for ₹14,000. This kind of unjust price manipulation is unacceptable. But what’s worse is the pathetic condition of the room – fungus-infested walls, mouldy bathroom and cupboards. I suffer from asthma, and mould exposure is dangerous for me. Despite repeated complaints, neither MakeMyTrip nor the resort took any responsibility or provided an alternative. Zero action. Zero concern.
But the real horror began when we had food at the resort. That night, my 13-year-old daughter started vomiting uncontrollably – six times. We rushed to the front desk for help, but they refused to provide any medical assistance, saying they had no medicines and told us to go to a hospital at 1 AM in the freezing cold.
My husband had to drive alone in the dark, searching for a hospital. When he finally found one, they refused to give medicine without seeing the patient. He had to come back to the resort, carry our dehydrated, weak child, and take her back for IV treatment. Not once did the resort staff offer support, transportation, or even empathy.
MakeMyTrip must be held accountable for listing such unsafe properties. This was not a vacation – it was a health emergency caused by their negligence. We received no support, no refund, no action, only trauma and suffering.
