I booked a room in shahbaaz group. They accommodated us in a nearby third class houseboat named pleasure palace by alexandra palace group. The room condition was terrible, no electricity, no electric kettle. The caretaker was impolite and extremely rude, they even charged us rupees 1500 for dinner in which they gave us terrible food. The caretaker was peeping and listening us outside our room, we felt very uncomfortable,

The stay experience was really unpleasant. The care taker was absolutely uncooperative. Even the room arrangements were very average. We had to pay separately for our drop back to ghat from the houseboat. Should be avoided!

Not at all a good place to stay. Hotel staff is not good and even they are not friendly and cooperative in nature. I will not suggest anybody to book this houseboat. There are a lot of other houseboats where you can stay. Difficult to reach there.

A jewel in Srinagar, fantastic services by Shahbaz group of houseboat, we stayed for one night in June-2016, houseboat manager Mr. Masood is very helpful person, houseboat are well maintained & food is also delicious.

Shahbaaz Houseboat was the best with great views and location. The staff (Shahid) was excellent with service and food. The houseboat is value for money. The houseboat was very clean and beautiful. Overall a great experience.

This was the second time we stayed at the Dal lake on a houseboat. The last stay was two years ago and on a different houseboat. Both the houseboats were ditto as far as the rooms are concerned and also the service. Only in our previous houseboat, the family who owned and operated it stayed alongside in the adjoining boat and we had the pleasure of having home-cooked meals which is a definite plus. At Shahbaaz, although there was no access to home-cooked meals the caretaker - Shahid was prompt and courteous, made us comfortable in every way for the 2 days we stayed there. The bed was a spring bed and would squeak every time we mounted it hehehe. And someone like me who doesn't like these beds may not get good sleep. Rest all was fine with the cleanliness, space and decor of the place. There is no view from the window in the room but that's common for all houseboats on the lake as they are all anchored next to each other. Note: I had booked my stay via MMT and was under the impression that we would be ferried to and fro (Houseboat to land) at no cost but that wasn't the case. It costs Rs. 50 for each trip except for the 1st one when you arrive. Please confirm in advance for this cause otherwise one could land up spending quite a bit. Also, be cautious of the shikara rides as they will quote any arbitrary charge for a ride. There is no on fixed charge for the ride, they will negotiate until you do.

Hotel is good but one thing missing is that food menu card and rate of food is not available. Room was good and cleanliness is also good. Main reason to give reason is food as this houseboat is available in Dull lake you have no option for eating food except houseboat but no menu card is available. No rate card is available you ask any thing they will give any amount. Asked for chicken they said rate 1000rs. Is it so it's 5 star hotel. No complaints regarding room.

Had a pleasant stay at Shahbaz Houseboats. Only issue is that WiFi wasn't arranged, even after asking the person at the houseboats. He said that he would provide, but didn't get it. I did not opt for food at the houseboat, so cannot comment on that, though I opened the refrigerator and it was too dirty. Rest - the rooms. The cleanliness of the houseboat. The behaviour of the persons at the houseboat (Shahid and Rameez) was very good.

Couldn't have been worse. Fell ill. The food was bad, we had taken two meals package, the location was not that great and it was all so ordinary that we couldn't believe it was even worth living. Casual and careless attitude of the attending staff. It's not a place worth living, not even worth tea time.

Showing something else but doing poor showing bukhare but not providing such facilities. After booking they charged extra which is not mentioned earlier. Owner never visit the place. Very bad experience. After ordering, take longer time. Not satisfied. Overall, a bad experience.

Overall, it was a nice stay in Shahbaaz Houseboat. Rooms are too good. Interior is excellent, however, average from outside. Need to improve facilities like breakfast, meal, etc. Little bit uncomfortable to reach the houseboat as every time we need to take a shikara.

Behaviour of Houseboat caretaker & room boy is very rowdy and argumentative. They are not all cooperative. I have booked two rooms for two nights at a cost of Rs. 8600/-. But I felt it is thrown in to the Dal Lake. On the second night, Ladies of my family were staying at other hotels on the land. We two males were in only one room on second night. Other room was lying vacant. You had charged extra amount for extra person but no extra bed has been given by them. From the security point of view, no strong inner lock and outer lock of these room is there. Totally my family is dissatisfied with this hotel. He has given us hotel whose name is ALPC and says that it is the group of Shahbaaz hotel.

It was a nice stay at this houseboat with nice behaviour of staff there. It should be improved more to make it more clean and hygienic. Staff behaviour was good and up to the mark. We wished to have TV in our room but it was only a common TV which was not working properly.

Overall experience with Shahbaaz Houseboats group was great. its service was also good, dealing with customer was excellent. Boat drop & pick-up facility offered by houseboat was really wow. I really suggest to everyone to stay their holiday in that boat.

Bathroom should have hand shower for bathing. We faced power cut which was applicable across all houseboats nearby during our stay and there was only inverter with 1 bulb in each room. A power generator would have been better. No WiFi was available though it was advertised in the hotel website.
