An aweful experience

The picture they put on the website misled us to think that they own the whole building, and is a big hotel. However, they are in a building mixing probably with other offices or private apartments. Furthermore, when we went to check-in, they asked us to go to another hotel, which is a few blocks away, and is not like Gonzaga rating as 3 stars, it was only a 2-stars hotel (i don't think it's even a 2 stars hotel, one star didn't luminescence on the sign in front of the hotel. The front desk is in the basement, it was dark. Everything seems old, poor and not in a good condition). They are not like what they said on the website at all. We paid for 3 stars hotel and service, but we only got 2 stars hotel and service. Furthermore, they requested us to check in with another hotel didn't match our need of staying close to the Central station at all, so we were really not happy about this rude request. The room was horrible, it's not very clean, and the towels were not clean, the only thing we got for controlling the temperature is a fan, which got a timekeeper. We won't be able to control it after falling into sleep. We didn't get what they listed on the website in our room, such as Climate control, Complimentary newspaper, Minibar Coffee/tea maker, Hair dryer, and room safe. Due to the lack of hair dryer, we even couldn't take a nice shower. Honestly, there were only basic things in the room, nothing else. For this kind level of hotel, they really shouldn't charge people this kind of money. And I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay in this hotel, not Gonzaga, nor the weird 2-stars hotel they asked us to check in.

Good accommodation

Room temperature was too much low and the convector did not work. After a night shower in the rain return to a cold room was not the greatest. Maybe checkin and checkout times should be more elastic (checkin: 2pm checkout:11am. Located less than 100 mt from the central station every place was easy to reach by tube and urban trains. International Staff quite efficient. Despite the pros and cons, for a touch-and-go weekend it is a good accommodation.

Nothing great

The only positive aspect of the hotel is that it is close to the metro station. As stated in the previous reviews,it is definitely not worth the money and staff are not professionals for a 3 star hotel as they claim. It should be a one star motel in my opinion.

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT

First of all, I paid 150 Euros for this hotel, very close to the Centrale Station. Strategic location for a quick one day one night stop in MIlan on the way to Rome. That's it. There are a number of issues about this hotel: a. It is on the third floor of some nondescript building. You see nothing but industrial looking elevators as you go into the entry. b. I was not greeted properly by the staff when i walked in. No smile, no welcome, no hello. The first thing that came out of his mouth was, "You're paying 150 euros" for the night. The other receptionists that took his post were no better. They look like they actually sleep there too, and just woke up randomly to assume their scheduled post. c. Right in front of the receptionist counter are some old dated sofas and tables and chairs that would become the breakfast area for the next morning. I have been traveling through four countries in Europe during this trip, and I have found better looking pit stops than their reception-sofa-dining area. d. The room looked old. Like what I imagine a drive-in motel would look like. i would better have stayed at a 35 dollar Motel 6, somewhere... e. The bed had a thin layer of mattress, and not comfortable at all. The blankets were thin. f. The pillows were literally three inches thin. I asked for extra pillows and the guy on the reception looked offended. There are no extra pillows, he said. He must have seen the surprise in my face, and so he said, "I will try to see what i can find." No pillows arrived. g. When we arrived from the EXPO of Milan, we entered the room and found that it was hot. There was nowhere to turn on the air conditioning. I called the receptionist desk and I was told that air conditioning stops at midnight. I wanted to leave the hotel at this point, but I needed my sleep, as it was already close to midnight when we returned to the hotel from the EXPO. we opened the windows for the night, and occasionally got awakened to the noise coming from the street. h. The hotel room seemed dark. Some lights were busted. The bathroom lights were also inadequate. There was no late in the shower closet. When I left the hotel, I had this feeling that i was a survivor. The whole experience confused me, because I would have not known it was like this when i was booking it. When paying 150 euros for a hotel, one would at least expect something decent. All I can advise to anyone who is considering Hotel Gonzaga in Milan is this: Don't even think about it.

ATTENTION! totally unreliable

i booked three rooms which were cancelled via email by the hotel at eight o’clock at the day of arrival... i even called in the afternoon and asked if everything was fine with our late arrival, the answer was "si, si, va bene, va bene"... i called and called, sadly the hotel didn’t want to keep the rooms reserved. they already gave them away. it is imposible to find a reasonably priced room at ten in the night in milan, we had to take a train back to the swiss border where we found an ok hotel... it was all extremly frustrating and i felt fooled, even betrayed. the manager and reception personal were part of this unserious behaviour, so i strongly advice to BOOK ANY OTHER HOTEL !!!
