Positive: My stay at The Hosteller Munnar was truly memorable. The property is beautifully located amidst nature, giving a unique experience of being directly connected with the surroundings. I stayed in a room where, every morning, the clouds literally came right outside, creating a magical view and a peaceful start to the day. The atmosphere felt refreshing, calm, and very natural—perfect for anyone looking to disconnect from city life and soak in the beauty of Munnar. The hostel itself has a warm and welcoming vibe, ideal for solo travelers like me. The combination of amazing nature views, comfortable rooms, and a friendly environment made my stay very enjoyable. I would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Munnar for an authentic and unforgettable experience. Negative: The menu prices felt a bit on the higher side and could be reduced slightly to offer better value for money. Also, the entry route to the property is quite challenging, especially around 6 PM when I visited. About 5 kilometers before reaching, there was dense fog and no clear direction signs. Since I was alone on a bike and had no mobile network for maps, it was very difficult to find the way. This is an important area for improvement to make access easier and safer for visitors.

Excellent Stay
The location is a little off beat but in a good spot. Food and services are really good. Really recommend stay.

great place to stay in the nature
The Hosteller in Munnar is a great place to meet up with new people, the staff has been very helpful and accommodating. The hostel is a bit far from the city but the area is beautiful, very peaceful ! The rooms are clean and the food is good too. If you are looking for some peaceful time, it's a great place to stay.

Terrible Stay
Terrible place, cost is more than a resort in Munnar. We got locked out of room at 4 am and was able to get in at 10 am!! Non-cooperative staffs. We didn’t have water bottles and when checked in their cafe, they also didn’t had water bottles. There were multiple blood leaches in the area including the washrooms.

Regarding the locked-out situation, please note there is no lock on the dorm entrance since dorms are shared spaces. We have no record of you reaching out to our team about the incident at 4am. As per our conversation, you mentioned you left for a trek early in the morning and returned around 10am. We also checked our washroom—no other guest in your dorm has reported any issues with leeches or otherwise during your stay. To ensure seamless support, we use our Web Concierge app, Glu. This platform lets guests submit requests, provide in-stay feedback, and raise concerns—whether related to housekeeping, maintenance, booking requests, or other needs—with ease and transparency. It was a very nice stay, I booked for 3 days but extended it for 10 days because of the stay, The room, everything including the nature and view from the Balcony, I will Appreciate Everyone to come here and Enjoy, and lastly the Staffs are very Nice

Poor Stay
22 Km from munnar and to long from hyway also no proper road , no our side food , even tea shop, you have onw vehicle then go to hosteller, property is very very OLD , AND fully used, bed mattress not wished, And don't ask blankets its very dusty, Washrooms smelled, I booked 4 nights but I stay only one( 1) night' Moved to munnar, so think it once

Stayed at the Superior Double room with balcony and valley view. True to its name. The property is well maintained, has friendly staff and good setup. The food at the cafe is also delicious and has a good variety of veg options. Recommend budget stay away from the hustle with good connectivity.

It’s a great place with great location and view from the room is to die for. Specially during monsoon. Food is good slightly expensive but since spacious cafeteria and relaxed so not much to complain . Will stray again in future.

Good Stay
We had a wonderful stay at The Hosteller! The property is clean, comfortable, and has a vibrant backpacker vibe. The stay in hostler was really good and worth. All the games in here and the ambience of room with the magical view from our balcony and window was really amazing .

Good stay and accomodation at the hotel. Food was very delicious. Slightly off from the city, thats good in terms of near to nature, however there was no board to show exact direction of the hosteller.

Poor Stay
Stayed for 3 days—honestly, a bit underwhelming. The hostel is quite far from Munnar town, so without your own transport, getting around is a challenge. There’s no food nearby, and the hostel only serves vegetarian meals, which are overpriced and not worth it. The view is decent, but the location feels isolated and uneventful. By the end of the day, the remoteness can start to feel depressing. Wouldn’t recommend unless you’re looking for complete seclusion and have your own vehicle.

great stay with a great view and clean room. the property is well maintained and managed by excellent staff. only have two drawbacks.. its proximity with the main city Munnar(takes 40 ish mins in each direction) and in house food prices which are a tad bit expensive.
