I would like to begin with the positives before moving on to the areas of disappointment.
Pros
- The room was impressively large and spacious, giving a very comfortable feel.
- The air-conditioning and temperature control were perfect, ensuring a pleasant stay.
- The staff at Reception, Housekeeping, and Room Service were extremely courteous and helpful. They carried out their duties with warmth and professionalism, which added to the overall experience.
- The toiletries provided were of a high standard. The hotel uses Biotique products, which is commendable—especially in today’s time when most hotels are cutting costs on such essentials.
Cons
- The property is in dire need of renovation. The furniture is old and worn out, and the walls inside the room looked stained and unkempt.
- The rooms are poorly lit and would greatly benefit from modern, brighter lighting fixtures.
- The bed, which is the most important element of the room, needs a serious upgrade—this includes the mattress and the bed linen, both of which felt dated and uncomfortable.
- The bathroom requires new fittings and improved lighting to meet the standards of a premium hotel.
- The minibar was in a poor condition, giving off an unpleasant odor. It urgently needs replacement.
Had this hotel been positioned as a 3- or 4-star property, I would have happily rated it 5/5 for its service and effort. However, it falls far short of the expectations from a 5-star establishment. The property badly needs refurbishment to live up to its claimed category.
