I booked a room in Puducherry at the Sir Abhirami Inn (also known as Grand Ocean Inn) My check-in date was August 15, and check-out was on August 17. I paid the full amount . Unfortunately, I arrived late at the hotel around 9 PM. When I presented all the booking details and proof at the reception, the staff refused to check me in, demanding an additional ₹1000 for a "holiday charge."
I informed them that I had already paid the full amount and that no extra charges were mentioned both the receptionist and the manager insisted on the additional payment. Finally, allowing me to check in without any extra payment. However, this delayed my check-in until 12:30 AM. The room and washroom are also not well cleaned.
