This was the most horrific experience I ever had. 1– terrible without a question.
I booked a good looking room with an AC and this is what I got:
1. A disgusting location, my driver spend at least 20 minutes trying to locate the house, without the help of the local chai wallas ( rundown tea shops) he would never find it.
2. when we finally found it, the was no one even there to receive us for at least 5-10 mins.
3. The room itself was dirty and stinky with an AC that did not work.
4. and even after all that disappointment we were told that we are not allowed to sleep there because we only had a soft copy of the passport, they needed a hard copy, a condition which they did not state on the website.
5. late at night when my elderly mom and younger sister were already asleep they kicked us out onto the street promising at least a refund.
So in midnight, in the middle of nowhere, I had to find a place for my family to stay.
And when you think it’s already bad enough, it had been almost a week and I still have not received my refund.

As per government and FRRO requirements, hotels must verify original passports/visas at check-in for all foreign nationals. In your case, only soft copies were provided, and an Aadhaar card cannot substitute for a passport. Without the originals, we were legally unable to accommodate the booking. This was explained at the time, and you were advised to contact MakeMyTrip for further support. We regret the inconvenience, but compliance and guest safety are mandatory.
