I stayed at Hotel Himalaya from July 5th to 7th and had an extremely disappointing experience. Despite the pictures and promises online, the reality was completely different.
• Rooms were dirty, ill-maintained, and had no hot water post 8 PM. We were never informed that hot water was only available for a limited time — and when asked, we were told it was “common sense.”
• The alternative rooms shown were worse than the original and were only shown the next day, with no effort at providing a proper resolution.
• The staff was unhelpful and unapologetic. No accountability, no sense of hospitality.
• We repeatedly contacted MakeMyTrip customer care, but they couldn’t even reach the hotel because of wrong contact details listed — all they did was keep calling us without offering any real solution.
• The experience was so bad we felt completely stuck, with no offer of refund, compensation, or even a proper apology.
This hotel clearly caters only to walk-ins or local bookings and does not care about online travelers. It felt more like a budget guesthouse falsely posing as a decent hotel online.
If you’re booking through a platform like MMT or planning a peaceful trip — AVOID this place completely.
