Our stay at Brunton Boatyard was good overall — the property is well maintained, and the view of Cochin Port is truly amazing. However, for the ₹25,000 per night tariff, I expected a more premium experience.
There was no valet service available, which was surprising for a hotel in this price range. We had to self-park, though the parking area wasn’t too far from the reception. The Fort Kochi–Vypin ferry jetty is very close to the hotel, which is convenient but also means frequent ferry horn sounds and occasional smoke smell near the garden and balcony.
The hot-water mixer wasn’t functioning properly, and the bathroom water pressure was quite low. Dinner was underwhelming in taste and didn’t quite meet expectations given the high charges. The property seems more geared toward foreign tourists. The location in the heart of Fort Kochi is excellent, but the hotel area itself is quite small — not much to explore after a short stroll.
Breakfast spread was good and enjoyable. The complimentary boat ride to Cochin Port was a pleasant surprise and added charm to the experience. The lady assisting during check-in and check-out was very courteous and professional, which left a good impression.
However, when we checked out, our car was found in a poor state with bird droppings all over, including the windshield, and no staff offered to clean or assist, which was disappointing.
Overall, an average stay with a few memorable moments but definite scope for improvement.
