After reaching at the hotel i was informed that my booking has been cancelled. Assurance was given for refund of the booking amount but not received

I was booked a non ac room by my employer for the 20th of november 2024. I was driving them from asansol to kolkata. He called the hotel at around 9 pm to confirm my booking and inform of our late arrival (their checkin time is till 11. 30 pm. The person who took the call lied that he had called me several times since the day before to inform that they have malfunctioning washrooms so they cannot host me. I had received no such call. Understanding fully well that we wouldn't be able to find any lodging at that late hours, he even offered my employer to cancel- which, he should have done way before. Our eta was 10. 45 pm, so we couldn't have them cancel on us. We agreed ro adjust with the lodging. What they provided was a a space where there were three rooms in total with a common washroom. There was no safety for my belongings at all. Even as i protested they told me to carry my luggage wherever i go, if i had such concerns. Without any other option, i had to suffer such experience.
