I'm from Bangalore, and I must say this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. I had booked a room at Grand Continent by Sarovar Portico, Hebbal for my sister’s reception – mainly for us ladies to get ready before the event.
We checked in at around 4 PM, and right from the beginning, the experience was disappointing. The front office staff, especially a person named Sunil, was extremely arrogant and rude. He didn’t even have the basic courtesy to offer us a seat while checking in – which is the bare minimum you’d expect from a hotel, especially one under a known hospitality chain.
To add to that, we were a group of ladies, and there was no offer to help with the luggage – no bellboy, no assistance whatsoever. The rooms were dirty and had a foul smell, making it very unpleasant for us to even stay in there for a few hours.
One of the biggest issues was the lack of parking. This is the only hotel I’ve come across where guests are asked to pay and park elsewhere. We had to park our vehicle on the roadside amidst heavy traffic, constantly worrying about the safety of our car. The security staff was completely indifferent, showing zero concern for guests or their belongings.
Originally, we had planned to stay the night after the reception, but due to the terrible condition of the hotel and poor service, we ended up checking out at 1 AM and returning home.
This place does not deserve even a single star, and I strongly do not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, respectful, and safe experience.
