I’ve been visiting Puri at least twice a year for the past 20 years, but this was by far my worst hotel experience.
The staff were extremely lazy and unhelpful. Service was always delayed, and even the simplest requests felt like a burden to them. There was no menu card in the room, and when I asked about it, the staff casually told me to “search again, it should be there” instead of assisting. Because of that, I couldn’t even place an order at the hotel restaurant and had to order food from outside.
There is no car parking facility, which is highly inconvenient.
I had booked the suite room, supposedly the most premium category, but ironically, it turned out to be the worst room in the hotel. The layout makes no sense — the sofas look old and worn out, the furniture feels cheap, and the mattress quality is pathetic.
The bathroom is unnecessarily huge but almost empty — a bathtub in one corner, commode in another, and no glass partition near the shower, so the whole place gets wet. There’s no concept of a dry or wet area, making the space completely impractical.
The corridors are so dimly lit that it feels like walking through a shady hotel. Overall, maintenance is poor, and nothing about this property justifies its 3-star claim. In reality, it’s below a 2-star standard.
A total waste of money and disappointment. I’ll definitely never stay here again, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.
