By Air

Approximately 177 kilometres away, Madurai airport is the nearest airport from Rameswaram. The airport is well-connected with major Indian cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad. Some of the popular carriers that ply from the Madurai airport are Air India, Jet Airways and SpiceJet. Once you reach at the airport, you can easily hire any public or private taxi/cab which will drive you to Rameswaram.


By Bus

A bus journey to Rameswaram is quite comfortable and safe. Daily bus services by the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) have routes to nearby cities like Kanyakumari, Thiruvallur, Pondicherry, Trichy and Chennai. You can choose from a regular, semi-deluxe or a deluxe coach.


By Train

This is the most convenient and preferred mode of transport that is often used by the travellers.
