History of Dubai
In the early 19th century, the Bani Yas tribe in Dubai and the city soon became a centre for sea trade. This dynasty still rules Dubai. By the 20th century, Dubai had largest markets (souks) in Arabia. When oil was discovered in its oil fields in 1966, it completely changed the fortune and infrastructure of Dubai. Hospitals, schools and other facilities were built and huge amount of money was also invested in tourism infrastructure. Dubai now boasts of hosting international sports events, horse races and is home to world-class hotels and entertainment districts.

Burj Khalifa Overview

How To Reach Dubai
The Dubai International Airport is the only airport in the metropolis and is the busiest in the UAE. The airlines servicing the airport include Emirates Airlines (Dubai’s official international airline) that connects the city to more than a 100 destinations worldwide, FlyDubai (an LCC) and Etihad. Other ways to enter the city are through the Sharjah International Airport with Air Arabia. A Dh 50 taxi ride will get you to Dubai in no time.
Emirates Express connects Dubai to all other emirates. There are frequent bus services between Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Masafi, Abu Dhabi and others.

Weather in Dubai
November to March: Considered as the best time to visit Dubai, the months from November to March is pleasant and perfect for outdoor activities. The Dubai Shopping Festival takes place in January-February and the city sees heavy tourist traffic.
