Places to Visit

Berijam Lake- This is a beautiful lake situated 21 km away from the main bus stand in the city. Close to the lake, Upper Palni Shola Forest reserve is located that inhabits a unique array of fauna and flora. A variety of medicinal plants can also be found here.

Bryant Park- The flower and vegetable show organized every year is the major high point of this park that has been named after Glenn Byrant, a British Officer. The beautiful glass house within the park with a beautiful collection of ferns, flowers and plants attracts a large number of tourists.

Shenbaganur Museum – This beautiful museum is located in the heart of the city. Some rare architectural art forms from South India are on display that speaks volumes about the architectural style followed in South India. This museum is the initiative of Kodaikanal’s Sacred Heart College of Kodaikanal.

The Boat Club- As the name suggests, boats are available for rent here that can be used for entertainment purposes. 10 punts, 65 single, 4 seater and 18 two seater pedal boats are available for boating. People can also go for permanent membership in this club.

Kodaikanal Lake – This is a beautiful, man made lake sprawled in a wide area. Star shaped, this lake covers 60 acre area. Angling and boating facilities are available at this lake. Besides boating, visitors can also enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding areas.

Coaker’s Walk- Named after Lt Coaker, this is a beautiful attraction. It is situated just one kilometre away from the Kodaikanal Lake. Nature lovers’ particularly enjoy this place where they can steal a few moments of peace and tranquillity away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
