Getting back to normal has not been easy; we have had so many things to sort out.
However, we do want you to know that we both had an excellent time in India, and will have wonderful memories to last us a long, long time.
India Experience certainly had things well organized. Our hotels were well chosen, comfortable, clean, with spacious and well equipped rooms.
You will doubtless be aware that we made a few changes to the itinerary! Again, Billou was very co-operative, but quite firm that we should not oblige him to exceed his driving hours or overall daily distances.
On our way to Udaipur, we detoured to Chittaugarh Fort, which was really very special. We were able to drive through the seven gates into the Fort and find the Victory Tower, temple, pool and views over the town. The city of Udaipur was stunning; we enjoyed the boat trip on Lake Pichola, views of the Lake Palace and tour of City Palace. Unfortunately we thought the visit to Sahelion-Ki-Bari was a waste of time. More time in the town, perhaps crossing the footbridges and exploring the ghats, would have been much better.
The Trident here was much better than its sister hotel in Agra.
The country between Udaipur and Ranakpur was lovely. We enjoyed our visit to the Temples, but we opted not to take lunch at the Orchard.
We liked the hotel at Jodhpur, and our visit to the Clock Tower area. Mehrangarh Fort was very impressive; we thought this was a real highlight.
On the way to Jaisalmer we stopped to visit the fort at Pokoran. Whilst charming, this was rather more of the same. We did not stay too long.We enjoyed the visit to the lake, the fort and havalis within.
Now that we are back in England, we are glad to tell friends what a superb time we had. The arrangements were good and we would gladly use India Experience again.
Best wishes, and thank you for your efforts.
Bill and Jenny Phillips.
