Review Of VRR Astoria Hotel and Convention Centre

The stay at VRR Astoria Hotel was not a good experience. The hotel is at a remote location with very bad roads. There was no parking spaces, or at least no one assisted/helped us to park our vehicle that we had to park outside. The only good thing was the room. Room food service was not available. We had to order from swiggy/zomato (that too limited restaurants). There is no proper restaurant. For breakfast, the restaurant is not within the building, but at an entirely different site. We had to walk in rain for a few metres. No umbrella or alternate option was provided. When we reached, there was no buffet. They take orders for food and the options are between bread, omlette, dosa n idly. No other options, no juices, nothing. The taste was very much terrible that we had to skip most of the breakfast. The ‘activities’ listed is a scam except for the outdoor ones. Poorly maintained indoor activity areas. No safety, no security, not even lights. We had to go to the floor and switch everything on by ourselves. For chess/ carrom, we were directed to a literal basement full of dust and poorly cleaned equipments. The only pros were the room, which was decent and the fact that they extended our checkout time by 1hr. Other than that, unless you live/work within Electronic City and don’t want any access to the rest of the bangalore; and you’re looking only for a costly room and no activities, dont choose this hotel. It’s not worth 2k+. You can find better rooms for this price.

This hotel is not fully functional. Restaurant is under construction. Property is shared with permanent residents of villas. There are a lot of restriction on movement. Staff is confused and clueless. Only thing they know is to remind you timely of checkout. Construction is good but services are pathetic. Breakfast is a disappointment. Better to book room without breakfast. It is not buffet breakfast. There are fixed limited items. Staff will count the number of idlis and dosas and blatantly refuse to serve an extra piece. Breakfast was served cold. Wifi connection is poor.

If you are looking to stay with family away from the city then it's a good place. The property and room was good. When we went for Lunch and Dinner it was not available in the Restaurant. Breakfast was average.

They have outsourced the breakfast. Not having their own kitchen. Breakfast was totally cold when it reached to us.

In online bookings it’s mentioned as flexible check in if u believe that go for early check in they will ask extra money and breakfast is only for namesake only limited options are available and too slow service.

The premise of VRR Astoria hotel and Convention Centre is wast and very beautiful. The staffs are very polite and courteous. One can enjoy very calm and comfortable stay. The only issue to highlight is that the hotel restaurant doesn't work for various meal timings . Otherwise everything is perfect and gives value for money.!!👍

They are showing swiming pool in ad but its common for apartment and hotel and so many rules, i just want may toddler to enjoy but they refused in the name of swiming dress . Breakfast is limited option even 3 star better then it

I will begin with the positive aspects, as they are unfortunately few and far between. The rooms were clean and spacious, equipped with 24-hour hot water, a hair dryer, swimming pool, makeup mirrors, water bottles, and cleaning services available upon request. Regrettably, the service left much to be desired. From the watchman to the management, there was a distinct lack of empathy and professionalism; the staff came across as lethargic and indifferent. The breakfast was subpar, offering a very limited selection—only idli and vada—and served rather late. Given the price, I hardly expected such a basic offering. Additionally, the advertised jacuzzi was non-functional and should no longer be promoted. The indoor gaming room was consistently dingy, full of dust, and unpleasantly musty. Another issue was the toiletries—although the room was booked for two people, only one set was provided, and additional supplies were only given upon request, with a delayed response. The television, which operated solely via internet connection, was unreliable and required frequent troubleshooting. I resorted to logging into my own Netflix and Prime accounts to make use of it. The balcony was also poorly maintained, with cigarette remnants littering the area and a lack of proper cleaning. The reception staff’s inability to communicate in Kannada was another inconvenience, as they only spoke Hindi. The bedsheets appeared stained and gave the impression of being used, and there were no proper mats in either the rooms or the bathrooms, which is a basic expectation in most hotels. Additionally, the spa services were not clearly communicated as being paid, unlike other amenities. Parking facilities were inadequate, and the watchman, often distracted by his phone, failed to offer proper guidance. The swimming pool was also not very clean. We were asked not to enter without a cap and had to purchase it however, when another family entered without cap or even a proper swim suit they were not questioned. In conclusion, my experience at this property was average at best. Given the various shortcomings, I would rate it a 2 out of 5.
