Review Of Royal Group of Deluxe Houseboats

We were entered houseboat arount 9. 00 pm and then within half an hour light went off and no light during our stay. Weather of kashmir is hot in these days.

Good location, personalised service. All facilities available. Food could have more variety. Electric blanket and room heater provided. Bath tub wasn't functional though.

It was a pleasant stay, staff were helpful and co operative.

Most of the houseboats looked more or less the same. The one point which needs to be addressed is the washrooms which are old and torn out now since they are quite old. The washrooms and toilets need replacement. Secondly, since there is a change in weather the houseboat needs to be equipped with air conditioners or some other better way of cooling. In afternoon it was a tough time for us as the temperature was more than 30 degrees and fan was not really enough. Evening and night was pleasant. You can stay in houseboats but may not be more than 1 night.

We were surprised by how crowded the lake was with other house boats. There were at least a hundred of them, all clustered together. This might seem obvious to some, but I was a little surprised that all house boats are completely stationary, unlike houseboats in say, Kerala. To some, it would be no different from a room in a hotel. We took only one room out of three on the boat and it was fun hanging out with the fellow passengers in the common room. This is not something that you get to experience otherwise, because you were usually cloistered in your own room throughout.

The houseboat is located facing the main road and the staff is very helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

If you wish to roam in kashmir, go to all the places then stay for day to experience what a houseboat is. If you wish to chill and just relax then stay longer. Though the house boat provides free shikara ride to the main road . You get stuck as the boat man has to attend to his 5 namaz and other things so your schedule goes haywire.

HOTEL AUTHORITIES DENIED ACCOMMODATION, CITING REASON THAT THERE IS NO CONFIRMED RESERVATION, IN-SPITE OF RESERVATION CONFIRMED THROUGH MAKEMYTRIP. ONLY AFTER CALLING MAKEMYTRIP AND WAITING FOR 2 HOURS, ROOM WAS PROVIDED. STILL HAVING DOUBT THAT THEY HAVE PROVIDED THE SAME ROOM AS BOOKED THROUGH WEBSITE.
