The stay at Emerald Vista was good, but has the potential to be great.
There were some highlights and some misses.
Breaking down each:
Maintenance & Cleanliness: 4/5
The rooms are quite spacious for the price and are well maintained. Good to see nice, clean linens, towels, etc)
Service: 4/5
(The only highlight that stands out apart from cleanliness. It was quick, responsive, and friendly)
Location: 3/5
(Not the quite easiest of properties to locate, a bit inside. And access via popular travel apps takes some wait time, so plan accordingly)
Food: 2/5
(While the taste seems ok, the extremely limited menu and inadequate complementary breakfast are major misses)
Now, coming to issues that are unpleasant, unacceptable, and should be improved at all costs-
NO Power backup (Very much needed, and also very strange that a hotel is missing this facility)
Frequent Lift disruptions (Disheartening to see fellow guests including Senior Citizens climbing several floors due to this)
Water bottle, Dental, Shaving Kit Strange Rules
(For a property that positions itself as a premium option, not giving Dental, Shaving kits as complementary is quite strange; Equally perplexing is the rule of giving water bottle only at time of check in, if you are charging and billing guest per day, shouldn't that be included on a daily basis)
One might feel after reading the review that if it's all so unpleasant, howcome 3 stars then. The reason being that 90% of these are easily fixable with few changes in policies, hiring good chefs, and investing in a power backup.
I am willing to give them the chance to improve and placing that trust in the management. The onus is on them to implement basis feedback.
