I booked my stay through MakeMyTrip and had high expectations from DoubleTree Hilton, but unfortunately, the experience fell short in several areas.
First, even though the hotel has a relatively late check-in time of 3 PM (compared to many others), we reached at 2 PM — but still didn’t get our room until 4 PM. During the wait, we were told we'd be offered complimentary drinks or snacks, but despite reminding the staff multiple times, nothing was ever brought to us.
Once we finally got to our room, we noticed the AC wasn’t cooling properly. When we called to report it, the technician found the filter hadn’t been cleaned — something that should have been taken care of before assigning the room to a guest. This lack of attention to detail definitely affected our comfort and first impression.
I also asked the front desk if a free upgrade was possible. They said they'd give us the best available room — but it turns out they didn’t actually upgrade anything. It felt more like they were just saying the right things to sound courteous, rather than being upfront. I believe being honest with guests is far more appreciated than giving a false impression.
Lastly, part of our package included complimentary welcome cookies, but these were never offered at check-in. I had to remind them again at checkout, and only then were they sent to us.
Overall, a few small things added up to a disappointing experience — especially when you expect a certain standard from a Hilton property. The staff was polite, but the service and attention to detail really need improvement.
