The Roosevelt
Amazing location bad facilities for price they charge looks like a motel more than a star Hotel They need to upgrade interiors
Room: Superior Room, 2 Double Beds
Average Stay
Hotel is too over rated. Rooms are too small. Not Worth The price.
Room: Superior Room, 1 King Bed
Needs updating
Although The Roosevelt is an iconic Hotel it now needs updating. The lobby is impressive but once you get up to The rooms it's pretty bland with dated carpet and beige wallpaper everywhere. Our room was a decent size with a big queen bed. The room smelt of old smoke which I guess was ingrained in The carpet and old curtains. The lighting was poor. The bathroom was very dated with cracked tiles and a shower head coming loose. Overall it was very expensive but that's not unusual for new York.
Room: Superior King Bed Room No Have Breakfast
In The heart of new York.
The hotel is strategically located very near to the Grand central tube Station. It is 10 minutes walking distance from times square and has many vegetarian restaurants in the vicinity. The decor and furniture in the room are old and depressing. The bathroom has old style sanitary ware and looks clumsy. The basic amenities expected in a 3/4 star hotel bathroom was missing. The housekeeping staff was courteous but the bell boys were very greedy and expected a heavy tip. Check-in takes time and anytime there are 8 to 10 people waiting. They should increase check-in counters. The Hotel is not worth the price and fame.
Room: Deluxe Room, 2 Double Beds
Pathetic and over rated
Dirty rooms, no amenities. Needs renovation desperately.
Room: Deluxe Room, 1 King Bed
Just about fine
The Roosevelt Hotel is located in a very convenient and central place. The service is very friendly and good, the bedding and towels clean. The room does not come with a fridge and kettle. Internet along with other facilities like the access to Gym are charged a mandatory per day. Checking in early or checking out late will cost you. The interiors are dated and needs revamping with the wallpaper peeling off at places. Even with all this, overall its an OK place to stay.
Room: Superior Room, 2 Double Beds
Good Stay
Over all good. Help full and cooperative.
Room: Superior Room, 1 King Bed
Poor Stay
The rooms were stinking. The property is very old and even room carpets were not properly cleaned. The bathroom were not up to The mark. No stopper in The bathroom. Staff was also not to The standard. I will not recommend this Hotel. Not at all value for money.
Room: Deluxe Room, 2 Double Beds
The Roosevelt Hotel, New York City
Hotel is located at a very prime location. Most of The stuff is nearby. Right on madison avenue and nearby to empire state building, times square etc. However, rooms are very small and have old walls and fixtures. We were really cramped for space and decided to shift to holiday inn after 2 nights. We liked holiday inn much better than Roosevelt. Staff is little rude. Overall an average experience.
Room: Superior Room, 1 King Bed
OK hotel
Stayed for 2 nights in not so big rooms. Tiring and old looking hotel.
Room: Deluxe Room, 2 Double Beds
Pretty disappointing
Everything is charged extra in the hotel. They have an extra money taxes charge for the basic things like wifi. The staff could be more helpful and courteous. The rooms can be renovated. The hotel feels really old and needs some work for sure. I liked the coke dispenser right next to my room though.
Room: Superior Room, 1 King Bed
Nothing to offer other than the location
The hotel has nothing going for it other than it's rich history and it's central prime location. No one helps you at the gate, receptionists are arrogant, the rooms are incredibly dated, the hotel had one restaurant that was operational and that was mainly a bar, there was no room service and the bathroom in the room was like something out of 1950. The location is beautiful though with everything that you'd want to visit, being only 10-15 minutes by walk. Apart from a few staff members, who were extremely courteous and nice, most of the staff were either arrogant or didn't seem to like the fact that we had booked our stay there. Disappointed for sure.
Room: Junior Suite, 1 Queen Bed
Extra charge
This hotel charged us extra for services while checking and said charge was mandatory and we have to pay even if we don't use it like Wi-Fi.
Room: Superior Room, 2 Double Beds
Average hotel
Nothing to recommend apart from the advantage of location.
Room: Superior Room, 2 Double Beds
Hotel stay was very normal
The location of this hotel is fantastic with everything nearby. The quality of service and the neatness has to improve tremendously. The equipment are old with noisy air-conditioner. Room do not have basic amenities like water bottle or a tea or coffee maker. Initially I was allotted an unclean room, it had to be changed subsequently.
Room: Superior Room, 2 Double Beds
Location is OK
Location is OK but poor response from front desk.
Not enough light in the room. Beds are small.
Room: Deluxe Room, 2 Double Beds
Poor Stay
Not worth it. Rooms are very small.
