Day 1
Bhubaneshwar
Soon after arrival in Bhubaneswar, head to the hotel. Popularly known as the ‘Temple City of India’. Some of the temples worth mentioning are Parsurameswar Temple, Mukteswar Temple, Rajarani Temple and Brahmeswar Temple. The great work of Kalinga architecture is visible in the construction of these temples. Other than being famous for its temples, this city is also the capital of the state.On arrival at the hotel, check-in and rest for some time. Later, embark on a sightseeing tour of this mesmeric destination. Start the tour with a visit to the large number of temples, dotted across the city.Later, visit the famous Udayagiri and Khandagiri Caves. These caves, partly artificial and partly natural, hold high religious and historic importance. Located on adjacent hills, Udayagiri has 18 caves and Khandagiri has 15. After exploring these historic caves, head towards Nandankanan Zoological Park (closed on Mondays and government holidays), which includes a zoo and botanical garden. The zoo has 1660 individual animals, with around 54 species of birds, 42 species of mammals and 24 species of reptiles. This zoo is also a famous breeding place for white tigers, which are listed as endangered species. You can also enjoy a tiger and lion safari at this park.Later, retire to the hotel and stay overnight.
Day 2
Konark
In the morning, check-out from the hotel and drive from Bhubaneswar to Konark. On the way, visit the town of Pipili, which is widely acknowledged for its applique handicrafts. Almost all the families in the region earn their livelihood from the business of applique crafts. This town is home to some of the best artisans of the state.Later, visit Dhauli Hill, which is situated on the banks of Daya River. The major attraction of this hill is the Edicts of Ashoka on a piece of rock. Atop the hill is a white pagoda, which was constructed in 1970s by the Japan Buddha Sangha and Kalinga Nippon Buddha Sangha.On the way to Konark, also visit Chausathi Yogini Temple, which is one of the ancient temples of Odisha. Other than religious significance, this temple is also recognised for its architecture. After spending some quality time at this temple, continue your journey towards Konark.Upon arrival at Konark, check-in at the hotel and rest. Later, you can enjoy surfing at Bay of Bengal and Kushabhadra River. Stay overnight at the hotel in Konark.
Day 3
Puri
In the morning, embark on a sightseeing tour of Konark. Visit the Sun Temple, which is the most prominent attraction of the region. Built in the 13th century, this temple is a remarkable piece of architecture. Narasimhadeva I belonging to the Eastern Ganga dynasty constructed this temple, and it is also referred to as the Black Pagoda. This temple is built in the shape of a chariot with intricately carved walls and pillars. It is a popular world heritage site and draws people from across the globe.On the way to Puri, visit the village of Raghurajpur. Famous as the heritage crafts village of India, it is the best place to get an insight into the various art forms prevailing in the country. An art form dating back to 5th BC known as Pattachitra is still alive in this small village. There are two main streets in this region with more than 120 houses, decorated with mural paintings.Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 4
Puri
In the morning, wake up and get ready to embark on a sightseeing tour of the splendid city of Puri. This city is believed to be the home of Lord Jagannath and has a huge temple dedicated to this deity. Commence the sightseeing tour of this destination with a visit to the Jagannath Temple. This temple is flocked by a large number of devotees, especially the worshippers of Lord Vishnu and Lord Krishna. Every year a Rath Yatra or Chariot Festival is organised here, when the idols of Lord Jagannath and his siblings are placed in a rath (decorated cars) and taken to Gundicha Temple.After exploring this temple, move towards another famous temple of this place, Gundicha Temple. This temple is known as the Garden House of Lord Jagannath and is surrounded by walls on all sides. Thereafter, visit the renowned Lokanath Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. During the road journey, visit Pipili, a town known for its exotic handicrafts; shop for pillow covers, purses, handbags, bed sheets, trinkets and other interesting handicrafts. Next, visit Dhauli Hills, located on the banks of Daya River. The major attraction of this hill is the Edicts of Ashoka - inscriptions on a piece of rock from his reign. Excursion to Konark Temple | Transfer to Puri
Finally, the day is here when you would get to see the beautiful Konark Temple. Check-out from the hotel and embark on a two-hour ride to reach Puri. Your first sight to savour is a remarkable piece of Indian architecture, the Konark Temple was built in the 13th century AD in the shape of a chariot with intricately carved walls and pillars. As per one of the many stories surrounding this marvel, the temple was made by Samba, one of the sons of God Krishna, in gratitude to Surya (Sun) for his kindness. Legend has it that Samba was cursed with Leprosy by his father and to seek forgiveness he prayed to Lord Surya for twelve years. Pleased with Samba’s perseverance, Surya took away his curse. You will then be transferred to Raghurajpur village in Puri District and is known as the heritage crafts village of India. It is the best place to get an insight into the vibrant art forms prevailing in the country. An art form dating back to 5th BC known as Pattachitra is still alive in this small village. As you walk through two of the main streets of the village you will see over 120 houses decorated in intricate mural paintings.

Sightseeing in Puri
Start your day with blessings of the Lord Jagannath at the sacred Jagannath Temple. Puri
Upon arrival in Bhubaneshwar, proceed for Puri and Check in the Hotel. Later visit the revered Jagannath Temple, which was constructed in AD 12. Excursion to Raghurajpur and Konark (60 km/approx. 1 hour 30 minutes drive)In the morning, embark on an excursion to Raghurajpur. To experience the different shades of the rich cultural spectrum of Odisha, a visit to this village is a must. Popularly known as the Heritage Crafts Village, it has kept a years-old art form alive. Pattachitra paintings made over a piece of cloth and dried palm leaves can be found here. Besides craftwork, quaint little huts, palm groves and tranquil environment make it a place worth visiting.After spending time at this village, continue your journey and visit the small town of Konark. This place is renowned for its Sun Temple, which was built in the 13th century. The entire temple is constructed using black granite and is also referred to as the Black Pagoda. Now, mostly in ruins, this temple is also listed as a world heritage site by UNESCO. This temple was constructed in Kalinga architectural style, in the shape of a giant chariot of Sun god, Surya. Bhubaneshwar
In the morning, check-out from the hotel and drive towards Bhubaneswar. Dhauli hill is believed to be the site where Kalinga War was fought. Besides the large number of temples, this city is also famous for its Nandankanan Zoological Park. Some of the elusive species that can be seen in this park are patas monkey, open-billed stork and eastern rosella. Day 1

Today, you would be transferred to Puri from Bhubhaneshwar. You would then be driven to Konark to visit the Sun temple ( one of the world famous heritage site & famously known as Black Pagoda). En route, visit Ramchandi temple and Chandrabhaga beach (one of the finest beaches with a long stretch of clean sands). Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Puri Town to see places such as: Gundicha Temple, Lokanath Temple, Sonar Gouranga Temple and Bedi Hanuman Temple. You would also visit the Jaganth Temple.

The seven horses which pull the temple on the east represent the number of days and 12 pairs of wheels, the months. The temple was built in 1250 AD and was demolished partially by the Yavana army in 15th century.
