  • Bhushi Lake

    Bhushi Lake is a placid water body, formed by the watercourse of Bhushi Dam. This lake is situated in the outskirts of Lonavala, which is why it is considered as an ideal weekend getaway by locals.

    You are sure to be delighted by its picturesque surroundings that comprise of verdant hills and small cascades. Several shacks lie along the banks of this lake, where visitors can relish local snacks or sip a cup of tea.

  • Tiger’s Point

    Tiger’s Point or Tiger's Leap is a prominent tourist attraction in Lonavala and offers splendid views of the valley. If you look closely, you can see an impression of a tiger trying to leap across the valley, which is why the vantage point has earned its name. The echo produced by rocks falling into the crevasse is another highlight of this point. During monsoon, a small natural waterfall is formed close to this point. If you are a nature lover, you're surely in for a treat.

How to Reach Lonavala And Khandala

By Air

The nearest airport is the Lohegaon Airport in Pune which is about 64 kilometres away. While it is used by some international airlines apart from the domestic ones, the nearest international airport is in Mumbai, approximately 100 kilometres away.


By Bus

Bus is one of the best ways to travel from Mumbai as well as Pune and you will easily find many non air-conditioned as well as air-conditioned Volvo options. The drive is beautiful with lush green trees dotting the way.


By Train

Since Lonavala is midway between Mumbai and Pune, all trains plying between the two cities would also cross Lonavala leaving you with multiple options. Some of the trains going on this route include the Intercity Express, Koyna Express, Deccan Express and Indrayani Express amongst others. Most of the express trains that cross the Mumbai-Pune railway line also stop at the Lonavala Railway Station. It takes roughly three hours to reach Lonavala from Mumbai and about one hour from Pune by train.
