Hotel Royal Castle, Gulmarg

The good: + Beautiful views, being located slightly away from the market. close proximity to army museum and hari singh mahal. both walkable. + Good hospitality, People are nice to talk to. Accomodating staff. +Slightly secluded, no hustle of gulmarg market or gondola. + Decent ambience, probably better than most in gulmarg except khyber. Bad: + The heating. Not sure if it was limited to us but our heating didn't work. whats most concerning is we had to call them for close to 6-7 times in a duration of 3 hrs to get someone to respond. Weather is cold and this is a huge concern. I'm not sure if this is a trend. + Restaurant is avg to poor. Most of the things we had were average at best.Some below avg. Availability of food on the menu is not certain and service is mighty slow.

The location is great and staff is polite but the food is terrible. The chef should be fired as he consistently made bad food for dinner, breakfast and next day as well.

Hotel has provided us separate jain food, it's team is awesome, great hospitality. Heating system in room is very good, we were here on the occasion of marriage anniversary, we both found all wonderful.

The stay was awesome. Staff were well trained. View was too good from the balcony room. Rooms and bathrooms are clean. Id rate it number 1 in gulmarg cos of the balcony. Even khyber doesn't have. It is below average. 3

3* property amenities. Not a 4*. food options/spread/taste is below avg.. small room. uncomfortable bedding. Great view from room balcony. But front desk staff and other staff at Hotel & managers are very courteous, helpful and attend to your issues. services is good

The room was just ordinary with very hard mattress. Had requested for a twin bed which they said is not available. The food and menu was not at all good. Havnt taken any for the same

The hotel is situated away from the market so it was quite and serene and the rooms and service was excellent. Food is good but can be a bit better compared to other restaurants in the vicinity.

Worst experience. Worst service food not good & not worth for money. Plz do not visit at any cost

The rooms were small but comfortable. The view from the room is also good but a little narrow. The overall experience was good. Only improvement area is the quality and spread of the breakfast. Also the rooms are on the expensive side.

The hotel's location was excellent, and the service was commendable. However, there is significant room for improvement in the food department. The quality and taste of the food fell short of expectations.

Very good property great value for money hospitable staff good room size with nice amenities. Only complaint was hot water not consistently available. The same should be taken care of immediately

Many time light were switched off after 10 staff asking for luggage to vacant room room were good but we had upgrade room from deluxe to suite by paying rs 1000- in cash as per demanded by management

The only good part about the property is the location. Services are the worst. Was not expecting this from a 4 star hotel. Food was very average.

Booked the place for the honeymoon trip. It's a 4 star hotel with an amazing valley view. Trust me it's the best place to stay in gulmarg if you want to enjoy the beauty of gulmarg from your rooms as well. Rooms are warm and cosy. Even though there is a power outage they have generators. Tbh this is really important because heaters are the oxygen of the hotel industry in gulmarg. The service people are very welcoming and polite. The food was good, especially the pane-er makhani. Absolutely satisfied with the hospitality. Definitely recommended. The staff is very good. Mr. Ajaz and rayees are very supportive. The ambience is superb. I would definitely recommend this place for families and couples. Kudrati hay-at and mezbaan are my favorite parts of this property. Must visit this hotel.

Quite luxurious. Everything on the description is accurate. It snowed when we were here and i can't begin to imagine the beauty of the gulmarg and the comfort of a centrally heated luxury beautiful hotel amid-st the backdrop of the snow capped mountains. Just excellent. The service, the reception, the lounge, the great food etc. The food however, is slightly on the higher side. A simple pasta at 700+ taxes is outside of a 4 star hotel's bounds.
