A hotel of pleasant stay.
coupleThis hotel is on tibet road close to mg marg. It's restaurant is very beautiful and the service is very good. Very caring staff. You can get your all tourist requirements near this hotel.

Horrible experience stay one night @ chum-bi residency
Property in bad shape post covid. No maitenace. Poor management basic amenities are not in place. My stay was horrible. Though i used to stay @chumbi couple of years back. It was good hotel with proper ambience. Avoid staying in this hotel now.

Simply excellent
Close your eyes & sinply book this property if want to make your trip in gangtok wonderful. Great location, clean rooms wide a great view, quality breakfast & incredibly helpful, generous staffs are the key things making this place one of the best place to stay in gangtok. The property is just 2 mints by walk from mg road

Good stay at gangtok
It looks very basic from outside, but once you enter the hotel starting from the lobby, restaurant and of course the room and washroom everything is perfect. You can have a very good view of mountain along with palzor stadium from the room. The hotel is located very near to mg marg, only 2-3 minutes walking distance.

Hotel service
This hotel is not good, i don't find more then 2-3 person in hotel, tv didn't worked through out our stay even food service was not there on our arrival. Not enjoyed stay at this hotel

Rooms are pathetic
Chumbi residency room provided was really pathetic. Walls and ceilings were all peeling. Bath towels were short and rough, seems overused. Water was chilling cold in shower even after waiting for geyser to warm up for more than 40 min. Light was so scary it was going on and off every 3 seconds. View from the room is basically a garbage dumpster. Will not recommend it to anyone.

Horrible experience.
Just don't spoil your holiday by booking in Chumbi Resident. End to End facilities are poor. No lift facilities at all and need to take stair case for 5th floor customers. It's a 24 years old property and not upgraded until now.

Pros-location of the hotel is excellent. Near to mg Road. Rooms are good with an excellent view of the mountains. Enjoyed sunrise over mt Kanchenjunga from the hotel. Cons the bathroom was not good at all. The fittings were broken, the towels were too old. Overall very poorly maintained.

Wired but OK
It's on Tibet road. Don't opt if you are travelling with kids or senior citizens. The dining area is 5th floor below, food is terrible and service is snail paced.
Soiled carpet is a problem for sure.

I visited chumbi residency 20 years with my family, 20 years later I found the same hospitality, homely feeling and the same lovely experience.
