Review Of Pugmark Jungle Resort

Nice small property of few cottages and one supposed tree house. Its not a big resort or hotel kind of experience but more like a larger homestay. There is a dining area where Breakfast and Dinner are served. The tree house stay makes it a bot more worthwhile. Quite deeply seated amidst greenery and at the edge of Nagarhole forest. The best part of this place is the owner Mr Gopaverma. He makes you feel at home and extends support whatever way possible. We had a challenge of sleepless night in one night because of frequent power cuts and malfunctioning inverter. Otherwise the stay was quite good. Food quality is quite good. There is a nice swimming pool. Overall a decent sized area where one person has tried to do his best with a few cottages and a treehouse. Very homely environment and Gopaverma is quite friendly. He even offered to drive us to Thirunelli temple. Its him that makes the place worth a stay.

Tree house stay was excellent, surroundings are calm and beautiful, balcony view was superb,room were clean and well maintained,food also good and friendly staffs

5 star luxury stay in a tree house right inside a forest with a decent Panchayat road in front, to summarize this stay at pugmarks jungle resort in Kattikulam in Wayanad. Saw lots of different birds (grey hornbill was the highlight), some colorful lizards and big Malabar flying squirrels while sitting in the big balcony with a cup of tea! And, in the evening, just across the trench and fence, there goes one elephant followed by two bison and a herd of deers. Never expected to see such a vibe in such a safe and luxurious set up. Kudos to the people who designed and built such a tree house in such close proximity to forest in wayanad. This air conditioned treehouse has attached bath with a jacuzzi bath tub, and fridge. Would highly recommend honeymoon couple to spend a night to enjoy wayanad with its nature and wildlife.

The tree house stay was really good, the resort is in the midst of the jungle due to which you end up waking to a breath of fresh air. The owner was really helpful and informative. The food was decent and the overall hospitality was above par.

Great location on the edge of an elephant corridor. If you are a nature lover this is definitely the place for you! We highly recommend you stay in the tree house or at least spend lots of time in the watchtower. We saw herds of grazing Chital, peacocks, giant squirrels, mongoose, monkeys and flying lizards! Your hosts are very welcoming and thoughtful and we can highly recommend the coracle trip on the nearby river and guided cycling offered by Gopa. The swimming pool is genuinely clean (a rare and very welcome find in this price range). The in house food is delicious and everyone on site is very kind. There are lots of nearby tourists attractions that are nice and quiet (in our experience you’re more likely to see the wildlife in quiet places!).

Beautiful resort . Great ambiance. Clean and cozy place . Amazing hospitality. Owner of the resort was amazing , which was a cherry on the top . Must visit , takes the trip experience to a whole new level , which you may never forget .

My wife and i had to stop over in wayanad on the wlwaybfrom vadakara to bangalore. However, usual our stop over place, close to thirunelli temple wasn't available and we chose to stay at pugmarks, though it was about 30min drive from the temple. The drive to the resort was beautiful and it was surrounded by abundant greenery, tall trees, farm lands and a decent approach road. The owner of the property, mr. Gopavarma was in touch with me over whatsapp and offered help as needed. Google maps' took us straight to resort without any hassle. The 8 acre property had parking space for about 5-6 cars. We were offered hot tea upon arrival and we were showed our cottage. It was spacious, neat and had all the required amenities. The entire property was well lit and was nestled in nature with 6 cottages, two small ponds, swings, and ample space for a nature walk. We were detailed about the near by places that we could visit. Since we had reached at 6pm, we couldn't explore much except for walking around the entire property and going around the pool and the pond. Dinner was made to order and the chef made chapattis and pane-er curry for us, which was yum. The rooms and the linens were neat and cozy and bathroom amenities were clean and decent enough was enough. Early morning was amazing and energizing after a good night sleep and as we stepped out to sit in the private balcony to listen to the birds while sipping hot coffee. We couldn't stay for long and had to skip our breakfast at the resort to visit the thirunelli temple. Overall, we had a pleasant experience and would certainly look forward for our next visit to pugmarks.

Property is just on the boundary of wayanad and nagarhole sanctuary just few kms away from the town of kattikulam. The resort is very well maintained. Went in monsoon time on a weekend. Not much guests so just loved the peace and tranquility. Caretaker made a quick checkin. Lunch was not available and he asked to have and come from nearby town. I think this was the bad part. They can charge for lunch. Have a cook. Have visited a nearby resort in the same area thennal. Jungle camp. They have the same concept. Just outright telling have lunch and come was not good. My wife didn't like the lunch in the nearby only big hotel on town. It was really poor. She survived with bananas

Except ambience nothing was that great, food was served cold and they use to get it from other hotel post our order. Not much of options in vegetarian food. There are no activities available and also pool not maintained properly.

My family enjoyed the stay. The resort staffs are very professional and helpful. Our room was clean and well maintained. Space for parking, swimming pool was cleaned with delicious food. Overall good experience.

It was really nice to stay with Pugmarks jungle lodge 😉 Full of advices, help for Safari's organisation which allow us to see Éléphants 👍🐘 Accommodations are top and the pool IS really nice. We will come back

We had a good time at pug-marks amid-st nature. Rooms are good, clean and spacious. We stayed at cedar suite. Amenities are good, swimming pool was clean and nice. Other activities like nature walk, watch tower are also there. Small area for fishing is also there. Lot of lotus ponds around the property. Care takers were decent, polite and helpfull. Food options are limited; though whatever we asked to cook was made available l. You need to inform in advance as there is no full time restaurant. Overall a nice jungle experience. All the must see places are within 30_45 minutes drive. Keep your room doors closed; there are plenty of monkeys and insects but manageable and harmless; part of jungle experience. Don't complain be ready prepared

We stayed there on 12/13 aug'23 (family of 3. We were allotted "cedar suite. Excellent room, clean with rustic, jungle touch. Unparalled hospitality and courteousness by the owner go-pa verma. Also worth mentioning his chef everything somnath. He served chicken curry (minimum chilly, as per our request) with malabar paratha for dinner and appam with egg curry for breakfast. Food is really delicious. I suggest all guests to go around the property to see coffee plants, black pepper twined around, the good part is that there are no leeches. There is a watch tower for people with a bit of adventure to observe trench dug around with electric fencing to prevent elephant and bison entering the property. We also saw how plastic wastes have been turned to make back drop for three swimming pool - including shower cabin on left and right. Took a walk on road outside the property and saw group of deer. All in all - an excellent and memorable stay worth recommending to friends and relatives. And yes, some special favours by go-pa verma - not mentioning the details least people start demanding it as right )

The property is decent for family stay, if maintained well it would have been even better. Food options for vegetarians are limited and i think the food is not made in house rather ordered from outside and provided to guests. If you have plans for leaving early then breakfast would only be available after 8:30 am.
